Best coach would be Alan Mottram from the Downs. Great coach, Great respect from the players, Great Club man, Great all over.

Wost Coach.......

The Ex- Reserve Coach from Ingle Farm who walked out on the team and club for no aparent reason. What a looser!
(just to add, new coach doing well, turned the team around, they seemed to be far more gelled together on the weekend)

best coach

Post by KOP END »

i dont think you can say motts is the best coach.. he has pumped a bit of money into getting a team together to win the league. Do you think ross taylor, reeves etc went there cause motts is a good coach. Thats just an outsiders view... i could be totally wrong.. just whispers you hear now and again

i just think the downs have one the league once with all the money they spent on players.. how long has motts been coach.. put it this way.. how many players from your first team will be life members of the club. From what i hear some players dont train too often. With players being paid more than others the downs have done well to keep everyone happy

The worst coach the amatuer league has ever seen is terry harris.

Apart from terry being the worst ever... There are many good coaches over the years. Earl pudler was great at the vale he has been given a very challenging task with Playford this year but i have complete faith in him. Rob Knowles aswell is probably one of the better coaches around. Ive played with rob and watched him coach great player and coach. Alan Mottram is a great coach aswell... from what ive heard the boys down there have alot of respect for alan.

I can tell you now that many of the players down there play for the shirt rather than the $$$. Im not sure about playre payments, but Moral is always great at training, and so far as ion lack of numbers at training, heap of rubbish. As with any amature club, work and family for players should always come first, and always has with Motts.

Thats what makes our club great, there is a real family environment, when nearly all of the wives, girlfirends and kids of mojority of the a's and b's team come out to watch, plus parent of heaps of the player. a large supporter base, and to me that stems from great playing, wich comes from a great coach. As you would tell with many clubs out there, when the results are not on the board, less people come out, and so forth, so with good coaching and results, it benefits everyone.

I agree with you Nugget don't just say sh#t on here that you don't really know about Motts is a great coach & was a very good player as well...Most of these players that people think that are on top money at the Downs, which they aren't are ex Downs players anyway so would be playing for the club no matter what eg. Reeves, M.Blackwood, Burt etc.
We are Liverpool Football Club and the expectations are so high.

agree rex, the downs is more of a community these days with the numbers. when they didnt have success pre 2002?? they always had reasonable numbers , nowadays with success(with motts) their numbers have grown considerably. that equates to more income which enables the club to sell themselves to interested sponsors = more income.people that go on here bout player payments, these guys from the downs are correct, their players would play for the shirt regardless but with their income why wouldnt give the players free piss if they are earning it. success= $$, $$=success. the best clubs are be run like a business.i,ve seen more peoople at the downs at 10.30 on a thursday than some div 1 sides have on a sunday.

beograd div.5 coach is the best...? has hardly challenged himself in Amateur Div 5 and white city's kids......... you blokes are funny.

The old Macedonia coach - Steve Woody had a good football mind and a great bloke but struggled with his communication to players during my time there. really an ordinary coach.I believe he's back involved at the Vale now.

kop end dont write crap you know nothing on. Trust me no one at the downs is on big money and i assure you if they were i would find out. Al mottram is an extremely hard working coach who bust your balls to get you at the club this is how good coaches work ask earl puddler he broke mine a few times. Of course these 2 are on my good list as for a bad coach there are none because they are all needed unfortunatly some dont explain the way the game should be run. Football is a simple game i think this has been forgotten. COME ON YOU DOWNS.
