having played in the league for the past 14 seasons i am very concerned that the league have done nothing bout the lack of referees. In 3 years there wont be any official referees only home referees and that will be the end of the competition.. Does anyone else have these concerns..
SAASL held a meeting about this last week. Not sure what came out of it but it least they are talking about it. I am sure they are aware of the problem but what can you do... Lots of codes have the same problem
We had 3 officials for our cup game for (Gully Vs Easties)
but 1 of the linesman was quite young. Do you think they
will just start them out as linesman & then slowly bring
them across to ref some lowly div games? They were all
pretty good actually I have to say. What you reckon lads?
the referee situation is the same all over the world i reckon when you play amatuer level you get amatuer refs we just have to deal with it. The refs here are bad but at least they are bad for both sides. in scotland refs live in fear of some teams and wont give any decisions against them because if they do they will smash his car after the game ( or smash him in some instances) in australia i have not heard that that kind of thing goes on but this is my first season am i off the mark here?
