The 6-3 result was a bit closer than alot of people thought it would be.

Saw the first half on the B's game and they looked pretty good. Good result for them to run away with it 5-2. A few missed chances in the first half but still won easily.

s. johsnstone for vista was there only good player. other than that they were disappointing. if the game was played on a normal sized pitch on a normal sized slope, it would have reached double figures for the downs. good lads though and a good crows for vista. would be a welcome addition to div 1.

3 soft goals?
They were good goals, well worked and deserved too.
I thought we played well, Downs are a quality side as I said earlier but we gave them a fight.
We have a lot of young lads in the side who gave it their all and I think a 3 goal margin was a bit flattering to be fair.
The number 16 for the downs was brilliant, my man of the match by a long way, the game was played in good spirit too.
All the best to the Downs for the next round.
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil! :-)

3 soft goals hey? Maybe the last one buddy, but there other 2 were good goals.

Any comments on your goals - i think 3 of which were from long throws into the penalty area and one was a lucky deflection from a crap shot.

good goals from vista, the young lad up front is very good if you give it to his feet and 2 of your 3 goals came from his work. downs never seemed to get out of first gear, so to win 6-3 tells you they are a quality team

Oh no doubt they are a quality team that play to their strengths. Couple of late goals maybe flattered them. It was hard to defend all the high balls into the box given the size difference, but matched it when the ball was on the ground. We'll take something from the game into next week.

no offence to your goalkeeper hes a very good shot stopper but thats where he needs to take control coming out and claiming them crosses there might not have been so much pressure with so many high balls then 1 or 2 crosses taken from the keeper tends to make teams play another way just something i noticed

Lets not forget that Downs had ample players missing before everyone pats Vista on the back too much ;)

Oh, that old chestnut....!! :o

Yes, it's true. The Downs only fielded 7 players.

a hulls and m peace and ur reason for saying hes a nutter is???
Not a nutter but a funny keeper. Just watching him from the sidelines was a great thing to watch when your a nutural supporter.

Headbutting the posts, swinging of the cross bar, provided some good entertainment.

i saw it and laughed, looked my way and i thought "shiiit im f-ked".

Who was wearing 16 for the downs :?: I thought Blackwood and big Reevsey were the stand outs.
I'm very happy to have moved to West Ham, because I can play for a better team than Sheffield Wednesday.

Yeah he did quite well too. Thought he was lucky not to get sent off at the end though :)

would you be referring to that tackle on the wing where he made no attempt what so ever to go for the ball?

Talking about a challenge made on the far side. I wasn't in a position to state that he wasn't going for the ball but it was certainly a risky challenge when already booked.

Saying that, Vista players do talk a lot of sh1t when out on the park so he probably deserved a kicking

surely the first vista goal is classed as luck, shot hits the crossbar then hits the back of the keeper and goes in...even stewie was surprised when that went in! and yes tommy got his customery yellow card..

whether vista players talk a lot or not, doesn't justify a tackle with no emphasis for the ball, poor refereeing in this instant

chestnutt please dont make accusations bout that tackle. especially when you were standing no where near it. and if you thought it was a send off offence then ask the player of yours (no 7 i think) what he said to tommy after the tackle. would be surprised.
WHY DO THEY CALL IT OVALTINE? I MEAN ITS ROUND, WHY DONT THEY CALL IT ROUNDTINE.

Banya, you would be surprised how close i actually was to the tackle, un less where talking about different tackles....i wouldn't entirely trust what comes out of number 7's mouth either, usually is shite!
