The World's Best Goalkeeper - Who Is It???

Post by adriano10 »

Who do people rate as the best between the sticks???

Personally, I've always had 2 faves...i'm a massive Petr Cech fan, i think he's that good it's a joke - his agility and shot-stopping are purely awesome...

then there's Gigi Buffon - his agility and athleticism in goal and around the box is unbelievable...

I'd say cech, from what I've seen anyway. Guess there could be better that I just havent watched.

Buffon is the best without a doubt, playing Serie A since he was 17!!! You cant beat that.

Reina is the best penalty stopper in the, bar none. Petr Cech gets the award for the prettiest hat.

The top 3 from what I have seen would be;

1. Petar Cech
2. Reina
3. Buffon

Carlo Cudicini would be up there too if he could only get game time at Chelsea

Then you need to see some more Rodger  In which, Buffon would move up that list.

As soon as he starts playing in the EPL I'm sure I will see more of him and then may change my mind. But can only form opinions on what I have seen so far.

Personal opinion then, i prefer serie a. Hate the long bombs up to the forwards.

the best keepers would be buffon and cech the top 2 easily. Then casillas, reina, robinson (apart from the blunder vs croatia)

Buffon definitely as current keeper
Past would have to go with Schmeichel the Great Dane, what a keeper!

Laz, I don't believe the EPL is all kick and chase, just as I don't believe all Serie A games a 1-0 boring chess matches........to each their own.

One is no better than the other its just what we as individuals enjoy more.

Stenman > if we are going back into the archives then Peter Bonetti or the Russian Lev Yashin, then there was that Liverpool keeper Ray Clemance - and of course the greatest of all time Gordon Banks, who could forget that save against Pele in the 1970 world cup in Mexico

wat about jussi and as if u guys are even putting pepe reina in ur top 3 watta joke he saves penalties, wat about ricardo surely u english soccer fans would remember his penalty saving abilities in the world cup..also where buffon arguably made the most important save of the tournamnet by denying zizou's header... showing his ability
