Post by fruit »

I'M INTERESTED TO SEE WHERE EVERYONE THINKS TEAMS ARE GOING TO FINISH IN DIV2 SUNDAY.. EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT WHO DOMINATES GAMES, WHO PLAYS THE PRETTIEST FOOTBALL - AT THE END OF THE DAY ITS ALL ABOUT WHO WINS OR WHO STARTS A FIGHT 25MINS FROM THE END OF THE GAME WHEN THEY ARE A GOAL UP AND GETS THERE B TEAM TO RUN ON THE PARK SO THE GAME GETS ABANDONED.. UNLUCKEEE  - SERIOUSLY I WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHO EVERYBODY THINKS IS GONNA GET THE RESULTS.. TA

Although this one has been done quite a bit ill give it a go...

Top 5 for me would be In no particular order
West Beach - Definately going to be up there this season. were not far off the mark last year but are getting the results this time round. Scoring plenty of goals and defending well. Will be interesting to see how they go if they pick up some injuries although the reserves seem to be doing well. Definately top 3 for me.

Pontian - Fairly solid up front and also in the back lines. I think that these guys could be one of the teams to lose some silly games and drop out of promotion zone.

Tea Tree Gully - These gully boys play with a lot of pride and are quite a physical team. should do well this season and will finish in the top 5.

Southern knights - Very well disciplined (except number 4 u cheating muppet!!!) play good football and work hard for each other. Will be tough to beat i think down at christies but i think they could drop some points in the away fixtures.

VISTA - Well this is a tough one... this is only my second season int he team and if there is anything i have learnt its that vista can be unpredictable. Definately have got the talent in my eyes to malke top 3 but silly results could have them slip. Hoping to get a few wins on the trot and giet up in the top 4 pushing for promotion. Just need to get some consistency and well be right. Got the depth in the reserves to go far but havent quite proven this. A win against west beack could be a turning point of the season... for both vista and Beach - Lets hope so!!

And BG sung - "All teams who come here are in for a fight, againsnt the vista in the blue and the white - enter DA - COME ON!!!!"

Raptors just to miss out on the top 5 spot and Pumas and bulldogs to go down!!!!

Hah! quality call football lad, quality..... a million dollar prize for tipping in sunday amateurs.... Me thinks not, sorry, stick to tipping the top two lads. gully to get done for breaching $100,00 salary cap, pontians to go up second still up for grabs, pumas and bulldogs to get relegated.

Once again another mention of money from Vista to the Gully. Its quite funny how you guys continously mention it each & every week.

Ill guarantee you this some Pontian players are taking home stupid amounts of money for game payments. Over $150 a game some of them

In no particular order...

Southern Knights (obviously)
Pontian
Gully
Raptors
Modbury/West Beach... I didn't play against West Beach, so it's hard for me to comment. But there league position speaks for it's self.
But Modbury are a good side... the'll definately cause the top teams some problems.

You complain about someone throwing mud at your club re player payments week in week out and then you go and do the same you peanut

Why mention Pontians?? We've never had a go at the Gully re player payments....
So now... as you can guarantee some of our players are on $150+ a game NAME THEM...... no one at the club is scared of the truth.. so go right ahead and enlighten us on who the big money earners are at the Eagles seeing as you're in the know

I heard it was everyone. There is a $150 basic wage. The players who earn more than this are the goalscorers who get $50 per goal. Alledgedly.

I believe the Gully boys are a bit miffed as they're only earning $100 basic plus $25 per goal. Alledgedly.

They do however get a $50 win bonus which Pontians do not pay. Alledgedly. You should address this with your board.

The really big earners are the ressie ref's. They earn the extra bucks for taking flack and putting there life on the line due to the dodgy decisions they make constantly.

Alledgedly.

How can you be upset when someone says that your teams pays players, when you go and state that another team pays players.

Well if we pay players we are at least should finish top and get promoted. If you dont like it then pay players yourself and maybe you will be top like us and the Downs. If you dont like teams that pay players go to Div 4 or 5 just stop whinging. :D

By the way name some of the players who are on that type of money cause I jealous I am only getting $100.

You guys are too good a football team to be making comments like that. We respect you as a footballing side (and i hope in the 70 minutes we had against you, you feel the same way about us), so when we come there in the second half of the season... we'll be doing everything we can (on the park) to get a result... should be a good tough game.

Cya in a few weeks!

Yeah you're right mate, I think Ronnie#Peanut fired up the GE with the player payment talk....... I said after the first match and i'll say it again Maxi has got you guys organised well and you play a good brand of football... it will definitely be a danger game in a couple of weeks time and if the EAGLE boys aren't switched on, the Knights will punish them... should be a beauty....

And the lads in the B's are looking for a little revenge too, under manned in the first match, they were never in the contest and got beat 3-0 (although maybe should've been 3-2 with those penalties not given  )

Lol your still on about the "two" penalties agree 100% about the first one (although not at the time) although would have been a rare referee that would have given the second. Having said all that if you got the first one, I'm not 100% sure we would have comeback because you had us in the first half - our reserves are hot and cold depending who turns up! We had 9 players for the first 10 minutes on Sunday, although it was 0-0 when our other 2 came on so no excuses

Who said anything about being upset & who said anything about complaining about players getting paid in the amatuer league??

I just find it funny that all of the Vista posts towards us have to mention money somewhere. I heard that it was every player at Pontians aswell. Wasent having a go at Pontians so no need to get angry.
