Obviously it’s the first week of games and issues will come out.
Today my son was sick so couldn’t play, being under 13 there’s no team under best h in the YCC to call up a GK, so his club had 2 GKs in the YSL but had to play a player in goals for YCC.
I don’t understand not being able to promote players from YSL as we should be rewarding young players good efforts, but not being able to move GKs (a specialist position) is crazy & needs looking into.

Re: YCC
100% agree with this!
It doesn’t give opportunity for or incentive for YSL players to move up.
Theres apparently transfer windows but even then a kid will only move up if there’s a vacancy as a YCC can’t be dropped to YSL.
Especially difficult for GKs given there’s not a heap of them around.

Re: YCC
the whole system has some big flaws that hopefully will be ironed out in the next few years
I have a couple of questions though
1. Mapping of players, movement up or down an age group, why can players only move up an age group but not down even if they are age eligible, seems a bit silly to be mapping players to teams they will never play in just to get around a rule
2. If a club cannot field a team in an age group do they forfeit that game or does it go down as a bye, probably more for the girls comp than boys(no reward for fielding all available age level teams, less games for some clubs, no opportunity for a result)
3. How does the finals series work, is it by age level or based on YCC championship positions.

Re: YCC
The whole system is flawed.
Clubs were notified of this new competition and only a handful of rules last year.
Then after the end of the 2024 season, they launched the full set of rules, with no club feedback.
The guy who came up with all these rules, has now left to take on a Australian youth team coaching position.
It is a mess, and there should have been a minimum 12 month grace period to introducing these rules.
I believe a few teams already played ineligible players, so there will be some result changes.
