The Fulham vs Cumberland game is a bit of a surprise result...
what was a 1st vs 2nd contest at the begining of the day turned out to be a very one sided affair.
Cumberland must have gone into the day knowing they were a real chance against an understrength Fulham side, especially after the mid-week addition of Lauren Chilvers to replace her sister.
It was however the Cumberland defence that suffered the most with in-form Sam Gross forced out of the team during the warm-up with a groin strain.
The leadership and "no-holds-bar" approach she brings was sorely missed as Fulham scored some very "soft" goals with the defence constantly being caught out on the wrong side of the attacker and reacting too slowly to air balls and through balls.
MJ and Rachael poved very difficult to handle and consequently scored all the goals in two very clinical displays.
Cumberland can take some heart though in the fact that they did grab 3.
Maybe next time round at Fulham, with some hard lessons learned, Cumberland will turn it round, or will Fulham show themselves to be the dominant force in the league again?

covered with dirt, multiple divets, doesnt hold rain well and turns to slosh with a slight sprinkle of rain. cant play the ball out wide coz it just lands in a massive puddle and goes nowhere.mattieg1200 wrote:y dat ?? size is ok isnt it ?? fulham reserves short for this week or weeks to come ??gubs wrote:always hard to play well at vales ground....
I dont know about Fulhams numbers this week, I'm not involved with the club...
our reserves only train once and due to working comittments are restricted to low numbers at that one training night a week... injuries are a concern people working all ours of the night (ambulance officers) doesnt help our cause...
so not much of a surprise if they lose on sundays - they play their hearts out and we find it funny when people say "awesome we beat fulham, we're soo good" coz technically they are playing against a second if not third rate side...
our prems are indeed leading the pack, with an unfortunate loss to city who played awesome against us. hopefully we can keep the win/loss ratio up this season and take the league home with us for i think a 4th time!!
i wouldnt say fulhams goals were soft - no goal is soft when ur playing in cold and wet conditions.. we had two of our strongest players out this week being gianna and lee, also having a few girls with injuries but still playing - i thought we did awesome considering..!
our supporters are hott by the way (some girl in a grey jumpa and anutha in a white jacket = hott!)

Everyone has that problem, for example Im a nurse and work all hours and still play on sunday.... its not only fulham.... we got another girl in our team that works all hours in a 24hr call centre.... heaps of the others can barely make it to one training session also because they work in retail and whatnot after school and uni.shorty wrote:our reserves only train once and due to working comittments are restricted to low numbers at that one training night a week... injuries are a concern people working all ours of the night (ambulance officers) doesnt help our cause...

yeah i know ur not having a go, sorry if it comes across as being defensive...
even if our players didnt have work committments we would still be struggling for players for both the prems and reserves as there are not many girls around that are looking to play...
altho if there are any girls that are looking at playing check out the website HAHA (cough cough *gubs, cj!!*)

I must have missed something here!!?? Are you still playing gubs??gubs wrote:covered with dirt, multiple divets, doesnt hold rain well and turns to slosh with a slight sprinkle of rain. cant play the ball out wide coz it just lands in a massive puddle and goes nowhere.mattieg1200 wrote:y dat ?? size is ok isnt it ?? fulham reserves short for this week or weeks to come ??gubs wrote:always hard to play well at vales ground....

No. Gee I hate to say it but because of work I can only play one weekend out of three. This wasn't a good enough committment to warrant me to be selfish enough to continue to play premier league. I cannot join another club as the clubs I would look at going to already have 3 SASI players and as I am still considered a SASI player I have to sit out the season
shut up adam - im not a proper keeper - but due to my foot i cant play at 100% on the field...but when gubs plays next year unless she wants to play sweeper il be back on the pitch!!!
but i did like the shots, quite perfectionate i wld have to say!!!
