Disgraceful scenes by Maiwand FC just shy of full time. Don’t think we will be seeing that club again. Club will be kicked out. Punches thrown and even the ref punched by a Maiwand player. Not the first time that club has caused trouble. Behaviour like that not wanted in any league or any sport for that matter. Utterly disgusting Maiwand your players should hang their heads in shame. They haven't been kicked out the 50 times before they done this, why would the league have the balls to do it this time. They were doing this 10 plus years ago when I was playing.

At the pre-season delegates meeting SAASL declared a zero tolerance to this type of behaviour. The list of fines for even minor breaches was mind boggling so I can only expect expulsion as the correct action if this behaviour is proven. I won't hold my breath though after the way they have handled previous incidents.

Will be interesting to see if they aren’t kicked out of the league the next game between the two clubs, is the league just setting it up to happen again if no action is taken

With all the money in the league coffers, they should purchase 1 × VEO for each club & enforce all games must be recorded & submitted to the league for them to review any such incidents.

Nice idea but the cameras are about 3.5k each now and $1200 for subscription. I remember in the past they insisted any offending clubs had to supply their own or leave the league. Gives the club a chance to clean up their act, However I believe this club has a poor history of offending and maybe it's time they were gone.

SAASL are an embarrassment I see maiwand back playing again today no points deducted. Very similar side. They well and truely shat the bed the saasl how many times can they offend and get away with. Can’t be hard for them to figure out why teams are leaving to join collegiate. Will be interesting to see the return fixture between the two clubs involved can only assume same thing will happen and no consciousness for action. Piss take by them

Apparently the Refs version of events changed significantly on his report due to fears of reprisal. Don’t understand the decision makers at the SAASL. If a club along with its players purposely physically assaults an opposition team the club and players involved should be banned immediately. No excuses no ability to appeal. How the Maiwand players can continue to play is beyond any defence. Disgusting absolutely disgraceful.

Allegedly at a recent SAASL meeting a club wanted to present video evidence that a ref match report wasn't accurate. The league refused to accept it as their rules state the refs report is final. The only appeal rights are for mistaken identity and sentence length. I also know of another incident of racial abuse of a ref caught on video and supplied to SAASL wasn't acted on because a proper report wasn't submitted by the club. ( a technicality in my opinion). This league has no credibility anymore and it deserves better.

What's the point in a points deduction so minor when both teams will get promoted anyway? as good as no punishment

and the league wonders why things keep escalating to the point a ref gets assaulted and have it broadcast anywhere

We presented video evidence that a referee blatantly lied in his report and all they did was thank us for the footage and reduce a ban by a game and still said the red card was valid, despite it being clearly incorrect.

Since moving to CSL, they have provided us with referees for all three games pretty much every weekend. Have they made mistakes? Sure, but the quality is much much better. And teams aren't violent thugs like we've experienced in SAASL.

I do notice the most recent game between these was cancelled and has not re-arrange. Is there still on going issues between them. As they are both competing for the league I don’t see how they can not play that game
