Some key areas were identified during discussions:

Reducing delays to the game by introducing semi-automated offside technology (SAOT);

In-Stadium announcements from referees to explain post-VAR decision changes;

Robust VAR training to improve consistency with an emphasis on speed.

I’m finding myself agreeing with NOC that those in the VAR bunker should limit the time they rabbit on to the ref’s ear through his headpiece and just get him sprinting to the monitor. As the sole arbiter of the final decision it’s the central ref’s role.

ps, I like what the Archangel Postecoglou said about VAR - he refuses to celebrate a goal until it has been confirmed by the Referee.
