FA Cup Changes

Post by ozzie owl »

FA has scrapped replays after Round One , thus depriving the clubs down the pyramid of valuable income and slowly destroying the worlds oldest club competition. All to keep the big clubs happy.

Yep. You would think the F.A. would respect the historic romance of the Cup which puts minnows against giants and has produced giant-killers on many occasions down the years.

Alright the big clubs are busy in Europe, but so what. They have huge squads.

Maybe to level things a bit they could have ruled that as the draw is made and the names of clubs come out of the hat the lower division club gets the home fixture.

I understand why they've done it to appease the larger teams who have so many fixtures, but I thought the same thing, at least up until maybe the quarters, it's not like the PL clubs need the revenue.

I was surprised after Liverpool drew at old trafford it didn't go to a replay at Anfield this year.

Giant killers usually win on the day, rarely in a replay.

I think he's implying that no replays won't make any effect on the number of giant killings.

An FA Cup match against an EPL side is huge financial windfall for the lower clubs . With the new rules these opportunities will be limited .

I'm sure boycotting is a huge windfall as well.

After Tottenham destroyed the mighty Tamworth with a well worked oggie in extra time, it's disgraceful that the non league side don't get a day out, and a payday worth so much to them, at WHL.

A shout out to the Arsenal for persevering with Havertz, if you ask nicely we could let you have the other non scoring German, Werner to partner him up front

Southampton must be on cloud nine after a rare win.

Karma that the cheating, diving Havertz was the one to stuff up his penalty.

Kai had recently been reviewing Sir Harry & his charades in the penalty area video, followed by the Salah snapshot
