Yes but that's just caused by the poor performance of their A grade through the season, not the review of this C grade game.

Nothing like a prompt, forceful and authoritative decision by those in charge of the league.dhoyle wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 5:15 pmYes but that's just caused by the poor performance of their A grade through the season, not the review of this C grade game.

Re: Nothing to see here.
East Adelaide FC are so far the only SAASL club to submit an application that has been approved by the CSL Executive.

Re: Nothing to see here.
The Collegiate Soccer League needs a name change, it does not service only Collegiate sides anymore (ie, Schools, Universities). Too many club sides.
Maybe they could call it the Adelaide Soccer League South Australian Football Amateur League?

Re: Nothing to see here.
We should rename the A League, which google constantly confuses with me looking for "a league", with something more descriptive, say, Australian Football League, AFL for short.
And we could call the SAASL, the Adelaide Football League, AFL for short.

Re: Nothing to see here.
The name will change eventually. But I don't think there's as much of an appetite for SAASL teams to jump ship as some would make out. Most of the growth has been from NPL/SL sides entering amateur teams. South Adelaide being the latest. The CSL is a weird mix of Collegiate Clubs, FSA Amateur teams and a handful of random SAASL teams who aren't from a College or a School. It's a mess.
It would be great to see the SAASL Collegiate Clubs make the move. That would actually improve the CSL, seeing as they're mostly Div 1 Clubs now. But I think those SAASL Collegiate Clubs understand it's better to go with "the Devil you know'. The CSL Exc. also has it's issues with lack of transparency & poor governance/ decision making. Nothing's perfect.

Re: Nothing to see here.
Did you really think that the decision would be overturned You gotta be living on Mars. SAASL haven’t made a decision in over 50 years and now with FFSA don’t expect anything as long as money keeps flowing into the coffers.

Re: Nothing to see here.
Says a lot about the club when you have a 6 hr. appeal hearing with lawyers involved, allegedly. Still feel SAASL bottled it though.

How so? It's highly unlikely they had any tangible evidence to go on.
I can't put my finger on it but I think my avatar looks like Jay Walking.

Re: Nothing to see here.
Imagine being placed on a three month good behaviour bond for bringing the gane into disrepute, but being allowed to keep the title.
Laughable and yet another disgraceful decision by SAASL.

Re: Nothing to see here.
It depends how they brought the game into disrepute. There's plenty of ways that could have happened during or after the match that wouldn't warrant a points deduction.

Re: Nothing to see here.
To give all three parties, both clubs and the referee a good behaviour bond would suggest it has nothing to do with anything outside the match.
Also interesting they are threatening their laughable social media policy again. Wonder which clubs will get emails asking their committee to have a word with people this time

Re: Nothing to see here.
I understand the league were aware of previous complaints regarding the ref though. I am more disappointed that the club condoned this behaviour and thought no one would question it. I watched part of the game as an impartial spectator and my neck is still sore from shaking my head. The Bourne Identity wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 3:59 am How so? In my experience there is a handful of 'good' people at that club, and a lot of, the other kind. They're a strange club.

Final day of the seaosn when a league title is at stake, why wouldn't you appoint an official referee...gameon wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 4:24 pmI understand the league were aware of previous complaints regarding the ref though. The Bourne Identity wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 3:59 am How so?
