Re: EPL 23/24
Some strange VAR decisions overnight.
Given the pathetic level of contact that is deemed a penalty in the modern game, how was MacAllister's 'tackle' on Bowen waved away? None of the ball and all of the man - baffling.
Then, for Newcastle's first goal, Gordon quite obviously controls the ball with his hand. Accidental yes, but the ball would have gone out or at least bounced higher had he not patted it down and, how many of those accidents are given as handball every week?
Where is the consistency?

Credit to Ange & well played Spurs...
Hates me to say it, however one of the best Spurs 'team' performance Ive seen for some time. You can see they have a structure & a game plan now.. something i think they have not had since the Poch days.
On that thou, we didnt take our chances in the first half when we should have put the game to bed. In the end Spurs should have won it.. take the point & move on!
5 weeks in & our injury list keeps growing..

Re: EPL 23/24
Have to largely agree, the Goons had plenty of chances but never really gave Vicario a hard save to make and both Arsenal goals had a big element of luck to them. Probably a fair result and one Spurs fans will be very happy with tbh.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 9:54 amCredit to Ange & well played Spurs...

Havertz, richarlison and Hjobjerg should all be playing in the championship.

Re: EPL 23/24
Can't really argue about the two red cards, even though Jones got the top of the ball and it was entirely accidental, in today's world that is classed as dangerous, certainly looked pretty nasty. Jota was just dumb.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 9:58 am I never want to read or hear again from Cyril that everybody else got lucky! Kissed on the grenache again Spuds
I am however entirely baffled, even though in this instance it went Spurs' way, how the VAR can get an offside decision wrong, what the hell happened with his lines and stuff? I think the sooner we get AI making those yes or no calls, they'll be both instant and accurate.
Maybe Ange is a lucky manager.

Re: EPL 23/24
VAR did the exact same to Arsenal last year & cost us 3 valuable points in the title race. Lee Mason forgot to apply the lines.. how the F do they forget to do it is the question.. with all the added time they are enforcing after 90mins what's an extra 2 mins to make sure the right decisions are madeNice One Cyril wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 10:22 amCan't really argue about the two red cards, even though Jones got the top of the ball and it was entirely accidental, in today's world that is classed as dangerous, certainly looked pretty nasty. Anybody in my business would be sacked if they were that negligent. No doubt Dermot or some other idiot will be busy explaining on Sky how he could have been distracted. Liverpool were ripped of by VAR,I agree AI would be better than human error, why are the lines not shown any more?

Re: EPL 23/24
Now Liverpool are appealing Jones' red card. Seems to me that they're using the injustice of the disallowed goal to overturn the justified send off, perhaps hoping that the FA will feel sorry for them.
Not often I agree with Spitty, but it is odd if they're telling the truth, that VAR won't release the audio.

He actaully said the game should be replayed but is not asking for it. Of course it won't and he knows that, but is it different to Arsenal? When the spirit of the egame was broken but no actual cock up like this?Nice One Cyril wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 5:43 pm Jurgen Klopp calling for a replay, he really is a graceless prat.

Ange's team does it again despite losing a player midway during the match.
More than happy how Raheem Sterling is playing at Chelsea atm. Involved in 3 of last night's goals.

Re: EPL 23/24
Sterling has been pus since he left Liverpool, the only reason he was OK at City was that they were so dominant and gave him so many chances and he's been rubbish for England for years. But, to be fair, he looks like a decent player this season, don't know if it's Poch or whether he's realised he needs to up his game, but it's ironic that when he was shite Southgate picked him every game, but now he's actually playing well he can't get a look in. Go figure.

Typical lucky Goons, outplayed and get a fluke deflection late in the game.
City don't look anywhere near as good without KDB.
