Important sports
We know one person's views, so only fair everyone else get their chance to list.
Mine (top ten): Football, AFL, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Golf, Baseball, Rugby League, V8's.
Australia do pretty well at most of them, and I haven't even listed cricket even though I have a passing interest in it.

I might be old, senile, short sighted and a poor driver but give me some spinach and I'll have you for breakfast!

Re: Important sports
I scored 11/11 actually. I'm closer to moving the nags above football, purely for the socialising and "less stress" aspect lately.

Wind up, why? I have family, relatives and friends involved in most of what I listed so follow with interest as well as watch the pros on TV whenever possible. V8's - is that even a sport?
I assumed it was a wind up. I'd give you 1/10.

Re: Important sports
What's wrong with volleyball? Great social sport, and even beach volleyball can be quite good on the eye when the women play. V8's, I think you know what I mean there. Finally, you're not my teacher so your score is irrelevant.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:37 pmPopeye Magoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 2:42 pmWind up, why? I recall the Polish woman's volleyball team being quite "good on the eye" a couple Olympics ago.zzz wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 2:09 pmbeach volleyball players are nothing specialPopeye Magoo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 1:48 pmWhat's wrong with volleyball? V8's are dull.
Volleyball is a fun pastime to play when at the beach to pass the time. Certainly not an important sport though.

Re: Important sports
I'm no fan of V8's either. Am crap at darts but played comp 8-ball for many years in the old pub circuit, won a few flags too back in the day in a decent side. Really enjoyed it until they started fluffing around with the rules, amount of games played etc. Still have a hit at the local at times. Important? No, but fun all the same, as any sport where you can have a beer at the same time is (hence punting /horses are in for me).

The V8's live is amazing. The reason some people dont like them is because they think they are better than everyone else and liking all forms of motorsport is beneath them.Popeye Magoo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 10:05 amEver been to watch the V8's live? Re: Important sports
Put simply, the F1's are a whole different category (in my opinion). Yes, I have been to both and whilst I didn't "hate" the V8's I wouldn't put it in my top ten or "important" sports but the Grand Prix when in Adelaide was another level.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 10:47 amThe V8's live is amazing.
