1ST COACHING CASUALTY!!!!!!!

Post by sepultura »

actually its should read "71 COACHING CASUALTIES"

1 in every 3 teams participating in this years amateur league have failed thus far to earn more than 6points or more in their respective leagues.

71 out of 208 teams have not cut the mustard so to speak.

If we related this to a EPL season consisting 38 games you would need 40points to be safe of relegation.

So far 6 games thereabouts have been played out of a 18 game season which is a third of a way thru the season.

20 points is probably what you should be aiming to avoid relegation depending on how other teams are travelling etc.

at the moment 71 teams are in the relegation dogfight which means 71 coaches are in the firing line.

Obviously i have taken in B teams and divisions which do not have relegation bu my QUESTION to you is-

HOW COME TEAMS IN THE AMATEUR LEAGUE DONT SACK THEIR COACHES A THIRD OF THE WAY OR HALF WAY THRU A SEASON TO ENHANCE THEIR CHANCES OF SURVIVAL???????

After all THIS IS soccer...DAMN IT!!!!!

50% of the 71 teams have an 83% chance of staying up. If the coaches were sacked only 12% would increase their chances by 1% to 84% if and only if no players also left. In 65% of instances were 1 or more players left the odds of getting relegated increased by 17% thus more than negating the 1% increase by the 12% of teams. Therefore your arguement fails the logic test!

Coaches in Amatuer league are quite often chosen as the only person that puts up their hand to do the job. Especially in the reserves and C-grade. There are not normally any better options floating around the place to simply sack a coach and replace them. Unless it is with one of the senior players.

I'm not sure of your question sepultuta :? ................
why would you sack a coach in the first 3 months of his appointment?

The club had faith in him 3 months ago

so things haven't gone to plan in the first 6 weeks why sack him?

time... longevity... success...

if not ... then fk him off ...

I think what the prince of darkness is trying to say is why do managers resign and get the flick at a higher level when they are not performing but never at amateur level.
Firstly, an amateur coach will never resign or admit they are out of their depth because THEY WANT THE CASH and the clubs never sack them because there is no one decent to replace them during the season.
remember people Amateur by name Amateur by nature.

and after 12 weeks they might still be in that situation!

where they then say to themselves maybe we should have got rid of him earlier and bring in someone who could attract players or revitalise the existing players we have on the books and keep us in that division.

agonising over a slow and painful death.

agree with holy diver. Amateur by name, Amateur by nature.
great second post champ.
