Re: Ashes 2023
What are your thoughts on the multi-game format (and points system) for the women's Ashes?

Re: Ashes 2023
Not ideal but unless they play 3 tests then probably the best idea.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:32 am Women's and Men's well poised for decent finishes.
Issue though is the points, if it's multi format then should it be almost impossible to lose if you win the test?

Re: Ashes 2023
in 2023 is women's cricket an open event or only available to women?
Convict sees a free man. He is not asking "why I am not a free man?". He asks "why that free man is not in chains?.

Re: Ashes 2023
This for me is where the points system is flawed - it should be such a way that the total points is an odd number so there is a guaranteed winner (and a lot less chance of a 'drawn' series)God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 1:28 pmCelebrating retainingFrank Costanza wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:08 am Congrats to the Aussie women for retaining the Ashes![]()

Maybe 6 points for the Test, 3 points for each ODI and 2 points for each T20

Re: Ashes 2023
Draw would obviously still be possible. Hard to think of a way to ensure it doesn't happen. Maybe most boundaries?Frank Costanza wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 4:27 pmThis for me is where the points system is flawed - it should be such a way that the total points is an odd number so there is a guaranteed winner (and a lot less chance of a 'drawn' series)God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 1:28 pmCelebrating retainingFrank Costanza wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:08 am Congrats to the Aussie women for retaining the Ashes![]()

I was thinking about this today. Maybe if equal points then whoever has won the most games.

Surely they need to go with black stumps, to appease the BLM activists.

Can we just have a set stumps at each end, with no political agenda plastered over them?

So Aussies team
Include Green & Hazlewood
Drop Boland & Murphy
With rain expected on friday to sunday, Poms are already praying to the Gods for a draw.

Re: Ashes 2023
England on top after day one. Only saw the first session, but that looked a 400+ pitch to me, and barring any tail-end miracles, we will fall well short of that. I guess it will depend on how well we bowl/field.

I thought you said you can't evaluate until both sides bat.
