While both Ramon Calderon and Pedja Mijatovic continue to reiterate their desire to land Kaka, their stand seems to have softened.
The player swore allegiance to Milan recently, insisting that he owed the Rossoneri, and wanted to respect his contract.
"I feel myself at ease over here," he had said. "I owe a lot to this club and I have a contract with them running until 2011.
"I don’t think there is much else to say."
The comment seems to have toned down Real Madrid's aggressive chase, or so suggest some recent comments.
"Kaka is a great champion, and a fantastic player," began Pedja Mijatovic, speaking to Italian media.
"A player like Kaka interests everyone, and Real Madrid are not an exception.
"However, it is almost useless to speak of that, because it is a difficult piece of business, and he is now happy at Milan."
Meanwhile club president Ramon Calderon has supposedly decided that there is no point throwing 80-100 million euros on one player.
He supposedly has 60 million put aside from the money that has come in from the television deal, and is unwilling to go above that. Milan, however, are unlikely to even budge unless the sum edges closer to nine digits.

Please don't give up on Kaka! Would look so much better in the white of Madrid.
Why's that? He looked good in the all white of Milan in the Champions League Final.

Yeah, I read that as well. But this post came on goal.com a couple of hours after Football Italia posted the rumour.Caramelas13 wrote:Just read on Football Italia that Real may offer Milan 43 Million Pounds plus Emerson & Cannavaro.
I hope Milan don't do anything stupid here. Kaka is worth that plus much, much more.
