Apparently Chelsea want to buy any points that Man City are deducted.

Re: EPL 22/23
Watched the West Ham v Chelsea game and though they never had a lot of shots at goal Chelsea showed a big improvement by dominating most of the game. Chelsea boss Graham Potter was interviewed post match and was asked about the stonewall penalty they should have been awarded late in the game, which he shrugged off without any fuss.
Most managers would be cursing such a poor decision- VAR dreadfully failing again. Apparently not given as the West Ham defender was deemed to be breaking his fall when in fact he went down like a 'keeper and made a 'great save'.

Re: EPL 22/23
Potter should be more worried about his own job than the penalty. I thought it was but that's what not his issue is. They have lots of possession but rarely have shots on target. Chelsea was lucky with the VAR offside goal near the end. The Yank that took over has made some massive spends on ordinary players and an ordinary coach. Sacking Tuchel was mistake No1. The long-haired fullback he bought from Brighton is a total dud.thebeautifulgame wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 1:35 am Watched the West Ham v Chelsea game and though they never had a lot of shots at goal Chelsea showed a big improvement by dominating most of the game. You should have been three down by half time, but for some woeful finishing and the officials being on your side.

A single frame where you cannot tell if the ball is arriving at or leaving his head and it's the wrong angle to be judging offside. Noorgard was coming back as he heads it, so definitely onside for me.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 10:20 amVAR at it again at the Emirates

What about the Wolves second goal, the forward uses both hands from behind to shove the Southampton player into another, but nothing gets given?

I agree with all you said Cyril.. it was a very soft, however in Saliba's defence, he just watched Toney do it to him 2 minutes earlier & over the years he has seen Kane, Salah, Kane, Sane did I mention Kane, go over and over at the slightest touch & get awarded an advantage.. so Jog on & help Foster get the ball out the back of the net!Nice One Cyril wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 3:08 pmSo when Mbeumo scored and it's ruled out because Saliba was weaker than my mother, that's not lucky?haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 10:20 amCyril time and time again keeps saying we get the rub of the green, ref's on our side, premier league wanna hand it to us.. really??

Now, the poor VAR decision. The problem was, Lee Mason took too long reviewing the first action, that the one he should have reviewed was overlooked due to the time he took on the 1st one. There was no lines used at all on the 2nd action & that's were the problem is

A lot.

Always liked Mason.

More seriously, I haven't actually seen an angle where I could judge for myself, so I'm happy to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking team - so long as they aren't Arsenal

VAR is very obviously not doing what it was introduced to do, get all the major decisions correct. However, whilst it possibly got the offside wrong, it also got wrong that Saliba was not fouled, so maybe, like it used to do in the pre-VAR days, it evens out over time. End of the day, whinge as much as you want, but you were lucky to get a point and should be grateful.

I can never understand why something that is so blatantly obvious to millions of football fans, is a complete mystery to those in charge of the game.
It surely cannot be far away that we have an Appellate VAR to review VAR decisions.

It was Mason sitting in the chair when we had our goal v Untied ruled out for a foul on Erikson, which later was advised it was an error & should have never been over turned

these days but it would certainly change the whole landscape of football politically and financially. For example clubs would be more accountable for developing their players and actually playing them rather than just throwing crazy money around. The EPL is a victim of its own success. Huge amounts of money breeds huge corruption, it is outrageous the way modern day football is run at the highest level.

Government could force it via work visa rules, but then they’d have to care. Start with - at least 50% of clubs coaching staff must be UK citizens. Only UK kids permitted in academies and registered as U21s in squads. Non UK players must play in at least 60 % of games in a set period to keep their work visa. The dodgy EPL would soon be looking to do a deal

Jeez Arsenal are lucky, rubbish penalty in their favour, then a nailed on pen for City ruled out for offside. The Goons doing their usual diving all over the place, they make Grealish look steady on his feet.
