Re: Big Bash
I would say that last ball fielding was a choke.Bacon8 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:36 amSurely choking implies they were favourites to win.C U Next Saturday wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 9:24 am probably the best use of the rules I’ve seen in the BBL ever - why they don’t retire players more is beyond me.
Strikers choked.. bowled poor, fielded worse.
This is a team that snuck into the finals, against the team that won 3 more games during the regular season. To take it to the final ball made it a thrilling game, not a choke.
I was surprised the last batsmen was wearing pads.

Re: Big Bash
Typical South Australian mentality though - "we lost so we must have been cheated", yet conveniently got through the previous game after a sodgy catch on the khawaja wicket and it barely gets a mention.

Re: Big Bash
Along with declining crowds since a peak in 2016/17, TV ratings also in decline with ratings almost a half of what they were 5 years ago.
Clearly past and present players believe the season is too long .

Re: Big Bash
That should get them through the gate to see Thunderous’s next home game. TV broadcaster will be thrilled.

Re: Big Bash
If they bowled them out under the minimum five overs would it have been called a N/R?
You can lead a horse to water but they are bloody hard to drown.

Not reduced until next TV deal starts in 2024/25, when it will be 43 games down from 61.Rookie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 10:37 amHopefully alot more reducedC U Next Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 2:01 pmIts been a decent tournament so far this season. But next season will be reduced in fixtures

Re: Big Bash
Replacements last night did well. The Strikers still will miss their stars. Lynn is a gun still.

Strikers demolished last by Brown last night , a true 20/20 cricketer plucked from Brisbane grade cricket.
