It should be Peru with Colombia playing off against Australia. I'm not sure why Chile think they deserve it and italy have nothing to do with Conmebol.

So FIFA rules state if any teams were to be booted then it would be the highest test ranked team hence Italy. Then Chile have said well they beat us twice with the illegal player which means if those games were reversed the 6 points would see Chile jump both Ecuador and Peru.
Anyway FIFA have said nothing to see here but I can’t see any explanation on why

I hope Italy don't get the spot as they simply don't deserve it, they failed to qualify despite having a relatively easy group.

It should be a South American team if a team cheated in a South American qualifier.
Presumably Peru were the next ranked. Let the play off game go ahead. If Peru lose put them if, when they win put Chile in.
