Re: Chelsea and Abramovich
dont worry about abramovic, he will be ok as long as he does what vladimer putrid tells him, instead worry about the working mens sons on both sides who putrid has condemed to death, just finished reading the day of the jackal, about time he made a comeback i reckon, all wars should have ended after hiroshima and nagasaki,
Re: Chelsea and Abramovich
As Putin bashes/locks up/kills opposition to him in Russia, most people do not know that the Ukrainians have been following his tactics by doing the same to the delegates from the pre 2014 majority party in Ukrainian parliament called the party of regions which led to a civil war/breakaway regions & 15000 dead so far.I just never thought it would leed to a Russian invasion, then again ever since news of joining NATO was around i think plans were drawn up by vlads general staff. So if the last president was a Russian puppet who was democratically elected, what is zelensky now?The question is how does it all end?

Re: Chelsea and Abramovich
As a Chelsea fan, I am disappointed that this will impact their match tonight but to get it into perspective the match means nothing compared to what is happening in the Ukraine. As far as Abramovich goes , I am not sure he can be to vocal. Even powerful Russian oligarchs like him are known to disappear or develop lead poisoning if they complain about Vlad.

If you get a chance read the book “ The Billionaires Club “ , there is whole chapter on Russian oligarchs and sport.eagleboy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 5:30 pm As a Chelsea fan, I am disappointed that this will impact their match tonight but to get it into perspective the match means nothing compared to what is happening in the Ukraine. The goal that chelsea had chopped offin the 7th minute of extra time looked like a harsh decision to me.

As a Jew he can take a neutral standpoint, maybe get them to play a football game at Samford bridge against each other & to the winner the spoils instead of war.

Now he's shitting himself that his assets will be frozen, so he's selling up and will probably end living up in Israel.
All the oligarchs effectively stole their wealth, with the blessing and help of Putin, from the Russian people. It's hard to feel sorry for any of them.

I know you're being pedantic, which is why I wrote 'effectively stole'. He could not have taken control of Sibneft at a massive discount to true value, without the collusion of the Russian government and the payment of bribes etc, which was probably before Putin took control to be fair.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 8:24 amWhat did Abramovich steal?Nice One Cyril wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 7:56 amNow he's shitting himself that his assets will be frozen, so he's selling up and will probably end living up in Israel.

So, Everton effectively stole Cahill from Millwall?Nice One Cyril wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 9:09 amI know you're being pedantic, which is why I wrote 'effectively stole'. Him having his money before Putin was going to be my next point.
Abramovich is one of the best owners in the country. Chelsea fans will be very disappointed to see him go.
This all seems to be a case of looking for reasons to punish all russians to me. He's ukranian, offered to help peace and is donating money to victims of war.
Even when selling he's looking after Chelsea's interests.

Re: Chelsea and Abramovich
I know nothing, nor care a jot, about Cahill's transfer, but I bet it was all out in the open and transparent even if, as you seem to imply, it was below your perceived market value. The purchase of the Russian State assets was patently not. I don't blame the likes of Abramovich for taking advantage of the situation, but I sure as hell don't feel sorry for him.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 9:53 amSo, Everton effectively stole Cahill from Millwall?

I do however agree that this is very much Putin's war, not the Russian peoples and we shouldn't be punishing all Russians, the majority of whom live in relative poverty and are just trying to survive in a dictatorship. Even those playing sports outside Russia who are wealthier than average, have families and friends in Russia and will probably want to go back there at some point. It's understandable that they don't speak out against Putin.

Re: Chelsea and Abramovich
I am unsure if Ukranian passports existed when he was born.
If they did, then yes.

Re: Chelsea and Abramovich
I just read that Abramovich will donate the entire amount from the sale of Chelsea to the victims of war in Ukraine, a truly humane gesture.
