Re: World Cup qualifier squads
Two 4 - 0 wins is not bad, particularly as England usually perform poorly against the weaker countries.

Poland to lose 1-0.

Re: World Cup qualifier squads
Who knows, we are very inconsistent and the recent 4-1 win over Albania was quite flattering (so I'm told). All I know is if we finish group in second place I will be content.

Re: World Cup qualifier squads
4:1 flattering? If you can look at the 3rd goal. Lewandowski creates a brilliant goal.
I'm predicting at least 1 Stirling dive in the box tonight.

I didn't watch the game, but was told we had about 4 or 5 chances and scored most of them and Albania weren't that bad.eagleboy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 5:17 pm4:1 flattering? If you can look at the 3rd goal. Lewandowski creates a brilliant goal.

Will take the point with england given it was a late equaliser.

Re: World Cup qualifier squads
Sterling certainly stuck with his go-to tactic trying to buy a foul by impersonating a crash test dummy. Dummy being the operative word, was absolute shithouse again, the better the opposition the more a liability he becomes.eagleboy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 5:17 pm4:1 flattering? Again, not seen the game yet but have been told that the German ref was useless.Bomber wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 8:49 amI didn't watch the game, but was told we had about 4 or 5 chances and scored most of them and Albania weren't that bad.eagleboy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 5:17 pm4:1 flattering? Re: World Cup qualifier squads
Drawing with poland is just unacceptable. 92nd minute is even more ridiculous, game should have been dead and buried by then and that least 4-0.

Re: World Cup qualifier squads
England controlled possession but 4:0 is a massive stretch . The GK's on both sides were hardly troubled apart from the 2 goals.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 2:09 pm Drawing with poland is just unacceptable. 92nd minute is even more ridiculous, game should have been dead and buried by then and that least 4-0.

Re: World Cup qualifier squads
That's the point, he should have been tested and poland pushed. Southgate was happy with 1-0 and it cost us.eagleboy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 8:03 pmEngland controlled possession but 4:0 is a massive stretch . Re: World Cup qualifier squads
Agree, he's too defensive, too boring and totally unwilling to take a risk. He looks at a 4-0 win against a San Marino as a job well done, whereas for me it's half done, we should be seeking to give them an absolute drubbing. With all due respect to Poland, we should be sticking 3 or 4 past them as well.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 8:48 amThat's the point, he should have been tested and poland pushed. Re: World Cup qualifier squads
His use of the bench in the Euro Final was poor but this was crazy he is allowed to make 5 subs and made none. Sterling had a shocker and yet never came off.Nice One Cyril wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 2:11 pmAgree, he's too defensive, too boring and totally unwilling to take a risk. Re: World Cup qualifier squads
I wonder how much will be in the media about the trouble caused by the Hungary fans.
In terms of the game, Southgate got it wrong AGAIN. We are one of the best teams in the world and drawing with the likes of Hungary and Poland is unacceptable.

Hungary should cop a home stadium ban , not exactly their first offence.

Ferenc Puskas would be turning in his grave at the behaviour of the Hungarian Football 'supporters'.
