Ashes 21/22
Will this summers Ashes actually happen with the crazy state border lockdowns ?
England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler has made it clear he would likely opt out of touring Australia if his family aren’t able to travel or are forced into hard quarantine, while captain Joe Root noted he is waiting for more information.

Re: Ashes 21/22
No matter what happens, there will be outcries from sections of society (here and abroad).
Personally, I hope they allow them all to come, including partners etc, assuming proof of vaccination. If not, then why the hell are vaccinations the key to "opening up"?
Disclaimer: ....only if fully vaxed Aussies abroad with genuine reasons to come home aren't shunned aside instead.

Re: Ashes 21/22
It will become an issue if more senior English players decide to not to tour. I can't see England wanting to send out a B team for the Ashes.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:59 amDave now from No 9 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:51 amso they should call all those tours off ?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:28 amNo, not even close.Dave now from No 9 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 12:47 pmdo you get same numbers in say a tour of India or west Indies for example?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 12:33 pmI know of a few who have tickets and some members but not like the 10k we normally have making all the noise.

If they hardly get even close what difference does it make , you cant just go cancelling tours because some people cant get inGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:59 amDave now from No 9 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:51 amso they should call all those tours off ?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:28 amNo, not even close.Dave now from No 9 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 12:47 pmdo you get same numbers in say a tour of India or west Indies for example?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 12:33 pmI know of a few who have tickets and some members but not like the 10k we normally have making all the noise.

I can understand why australia would want to keep it's home advantage and silence the "barmy army".

Re: Ashes 21/22
Just cancel it and award the series to AUS 5 -0, like previously.

Don't let people in but claim victory.

Don't worry though, we'll just claim it back next series like previously. My kids weren't even alive the last time the aussies won a series in England

All of history could be classified as 'previously' but we know that last time out it didn't happen, just like us winning a series over there.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 5:50 pmYes, previously.Bomber wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 3:51 pmLike previously?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 3:42 pmDon't let people in but claim victory.
