Looked promising today with a bright first half with Grealish and Saka providing the spark . The second half was more or less repeat of the two earlier matches with slow build up and not much spark. Positives are still no goals conceded with Stones and Pickford in great form. To be honest NOC I can't see Southgate changing his approach in the knockout phase.

This is what is so utterly depressing, he is simply not a good enough footballer to be, tactically, our main man. The likes of Grealish etc. (Foden & Mount stuck out wide WTF?) and to a large extent Kane get sacrificed on and off the pitch to play Sterling (or Rashford) in. He had it put on a plate for him last night but how many stupid mistakes did he make, good teams will piss all over him. I get angry just watching him. We are bypassing really gifted footballers with this chickenshit way of playing. My opinion for what it’s worth is it’s scared football, a waste of talent, frustrating, boring as batshit and I’m not enjoying it.
