HJ TEMPLIN PRESEASON CUP 2021

The SAASL HJ Templin Cup in 2021 will consist of 4 groups of 4 teams (max 16 teams) & the proposed dates will be over 5 weeks between weekends of Sat/Sun 13-14 February until 13-14 March 2021. SAASL League Round 1 is proposed to commence on the weekend of 10-11 April 2021.

Thank you to those clubs that have already registered and if your club is interested in participating Registration Form is attached or a copy can be obtained by contacting Competition Manager Mick Gallagher on 0411 858 488 or by emailing the SAASL office admin@saasl.com.au registrations close Friday 8th January 2021.

Confirmed teams (16) participating - Adelaide Croatia, Adelaide Dragon, Adelaide Monarchs, Adelaide Red Blue Eagles, Brahma Lodge, Croydon Cougars, Elizabeth Downs, Ghan Kilburn, Ingle Farm, Munno Para, Para Hills East, Parafield Gardens, Salisbury Inter, Tea Tree Gully, USC Lion & West Beach. Fixtures are being finalised and will be released shortly.

FORMAT
Group Stage x3 rounds
Round 1 – 13th & 14th February
Round 2 – 20th & 21st February
Round 3 – 27th & 28th February

Semi Finals – 6th & 7th March
After group stage top ranked team from each group to play off G1 v G2 `and G3 v G4.
All remaining teams play off against a team from another group.

Grand Final – (date & venue to be confirmed)

If you call circa 50 people including players and spectators involved in an all in, which ended up with police and multiple ambulances in attendance then I suggest trouble is an understatement !!!
Some very ordinary stuff went on allegedly including individuals being repeatedly kicked in the head when on the ground.
It will be interesting to see how hard the SAASL will go on this one..

Gardens do the right thing and offer up their facilities to assist the pre season event and end up caught up in this type of thuggery and crap. !!!

I was once king hit in a SAASL game by a player of a club currently in the HJ Templin. Full view of everyone, mass brawl, etc.

They did nothing. Kid played under a fake name the week after.

Dear Clubs
The SAASL hereby advises that the serious incidents that led to the abandoned preseason Templin Cup match on Sunday 21st February 2021, between Adelaide Croatia Vukovi and Ghan Kilburn City, will be investigated under the SAASL Rules and Regulations.
The League takes these incidents seriously and will be working with the SAASRA Match Officials, Clubs involved and SAPOL during this process.
While this Investigation is undertaken, the League has advised both Clubs that they have been withdrawn from the Templin Cup competition and that they are not permitted to play any further trial games until this Investigation is completed.
