No creativity at all in another lacklustre performance..
Love him or hate him, however Ozil should be playing in our side
Credit to Villa thou, very good performance
Ozil is the sort of player you build a team around, rather than him being part of a team. Bags of talent, but he is lazy and needs a couple of workhorses around him to do the donkey work, then just give him the ball. What we used to call a luxury player, but now the whole league is full of them.
I agree with what your saying Cyril, yet all the top teams have 'some' lazy players in their match day line up's / squad, Chelski, Man United, City even your mob seem to be able to play with a / some lazy players in their #11
Arteta sacrifice's arguably one of the best with the ball at his feet to accommodate a midfield of workhorses... the balance is not right with his current selection(s). We finally purchase a proper #6, we play with 2 at the base of the midfield, yet have no creativity in front of them - to me perfect role for Ozil
You play 10 men behind the ball, no space for Aubu, Saka, Willan, Pepe to exploit and it makes us easy beats cause we have nobody smart enough, with the ball at their feet, to create space and open up deep defences

Very impressed by Liverpool today (not sure how the penalty gainst us wasn't given), but considering the injuries we have, it was superb.
Obviously they can't all start every gane but VVD, Gomez, TAA, Henderson, Thiago, Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Shaqiri and Salah all missing at once is not great. Could many other teams have 8 players out and stil perform like that against a top team?

They needed a replacement for VVD and they've signed Jonny 'Toblerone' Evans
They did play well though, Jota looking like a big plus, although Foxes contributed to their own downfall with some poor defending.

Lucky, lucky Arsenal
If you don't score you don't win games Cyril
Pepe should never be seen in an Arsenal shirt again.. Arteta needs to treat him as he did Guendouzi
He reminds me of Adebayor, talented but lazy, much better at waving his arms than defending. Arteta's problem is that Auba is not scoring and seems a bit disinterested. They have quite a few players on enormous wages and none of them are playing well, if they're playing at all.
Love it

Amazingly (and I know you beat them) but we have so far won every game since VVD got injured, except the draw at City. Fabinho is playing very well at CB, but I would like to have two proper centre backs playing, Not a make shift one, and we can't rely on Milner at RB for too many consecutive games, he needs to be used sparingly.
Will Spurs be able to cope if Son or Kane get injured, or when they are rested? They are superb right now.

I think Arteta has focused to heavily on the defensive side of the structure (to be fair, it has been needed) not allowing the free flowing football to be played at times..to me Aubu is not a central striker - it showed this morning that with his back to goal he struggles, he needs to drift outwide to create 1v1 situations & with the two wide players doing more of a defensive shift nowadays its not creating these opportunities for Aubu to do that & stretch defences.

I haven't seen the whole match, but based on the highlights you'd have to say that Brighton deserved something from the game. Looked like another ridiculous penalty for the equalising goal where a slight clash of boots was given as a foul, it's a contact sport FFS. Not sure about the first pen either, might well have been the forward who initiated the contact.

Have to agree NOC the 2nd penalty was ultra soft and over 90 mins The Seagulls deserved a point .

I think the first was clear as day.
Salah goal should have stood.
Second penalty - can see why it was given BUT it wasn’t a clear and obviously error so why overturned, and if it was anywhere outside the box not given? The fact Wellbeck didn’t appeal says it all.
Not sure they deserved a poInt. Football is struggling though. Things need to change, and I think players and mangers are in it together, all publicly complaining about the rules and administration.

Wasn't Salah offside? VAR doesn't make mistakes.
If that is the level of contact that warrants a foul and refs are consistent all over the pitch, we'd have about a hundred free kicks a game. Give them time to show adverts perhaps?

Toot, toot...... Mikel's at the wheel
Mikel's fault that performance or the players not good enough Cyril..??
Rarely one thing in isolation tbh, some of the younger players are struggling and that's the price of them learning, but in a midfield that lacks any real creativity, even though he's lazy it seems like poor management to leave Ozil in the stands.

agree entirely with your post. its not the game i grew to love as a boy any more. its not a contact sport any more. it is not MANLY ANY MORE PLUS FAR TOO MANY ACTORS DIVERS AND SHIRT PULLERS AND LETS NOT FORGET THE PASSBACK KINGS. the game has changed so much its hardly recogniseable as the game the poms gave to the world for free. perhaps anti football should be the name now.

& how long now have I been saying this Cyril.. i sit there, watch every minute of every game & scratch my head at the fact he is not playing! Question is thou, was it Arteta decision or the club hierarchy to leave him out of the squad.. i think the latter!
No better fixture this weekend to re-find some much needed form

Classic Mourinho, but one of the games where Spurs fans are happy to accept crap football and take the points, especially with a clean sheet.
I wouldn't be happy to see them play like that against any other bottom six team

Great to see fans back in stadiums, even though it's ludicrous to have 2k in a 60k stadium.

12 months ago you were slating Jose on this very forum for his tactics & style of play he implemented at the once free flowing Spurs but now....
Well done to you thou, deserved the victory, you beat a very poor out of form Arsenal side who dominated every stat possible but the one that counts... still waiting for that trophy thou. Mikel has 2 since Jose joined the Yids!
