Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
So we are having commentators not in the stadium now? That's poor.

Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
Given various travel issues and various restrictions across Europe makes sense. For example if a commentator flies to Spain from Uk , they will have to self isolate when they return to UK.Champions at last wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 9:16 am So we are having commentators not in the stadium now? Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
Man city v Madrid is in Manchester.
Bayern v Chelsea is in Germany and the UK will have commntators in the stadium I would think for their coverage?
Then all games are in Portugal.
I don't get why Optus are changing their succesful format?

Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
Rather have Simon Hill commentating from here than Martin Tyler at the game. I thought his FA Cup Final commentary was ordinary, too busy to tell his long stories than commentate the game.Champions at last wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 11:26 am Man city v Madrid is in Manchester.

Has ManCity Uncle Simon seen the writing on the wall about where our sad A-League is heading and like a mercenary has just jumped ship...?

Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
His contract was expiring and not extended, mainly due to budgetry constraints. It is clear Newsorp has no interest in the world game, its been on the slide since they lost EPL.Con M wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 1:08 pmYeah, nah - fair point Owl. No, they have made many people redundant from all areas. Nothing to do with football.

Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
It never metions losing the Premier league starting the probelm, yet it does state many other things and football is included.
You have written your view as fact, when it's just an opinion.
Simon is bitter, City are no longer champions, and he was binned - hardly a balanced view from a happy man

I agree the sooner he is back commentating football the better, I can only he gets to call football in Australia sooner rather than later.

Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
How can anyone think simon hill is better than martin tyler?
You can't even call it bias as he's an aussie.

Not many people would prefer something they consider a lesser product, unless they have an agenda.Slinky_Pete wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 9:11 amNobody said he was better, just that they'd prefer him.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 8:52 pm How can anyone think simon hill is better than martin tyler?

Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
Optus coverage has been ruined now with the Aussie crew taking over pre match coverage Enjoyed watching pre match lead up with the English crew, packed with former players, not a bunch of wannabes and whats with coverage/ conversations of all European leagues..

Re: Simon Hill Moves to Optus Sport
I thought they had the 'b' team for the game with no interest to the masses?
