Vista off to a poor start which is surprising. As I have stated previously they usually drop off later in the season.

Raptors playing some good football, much to my surprise.

Vikings struggling which is also a surprise havig come down from Div 1.

Gully and Pontian stronger than expected. Although sounds like Gully have snagged some ex Vista players and some other notable signings in Nick Simpson.

div 2 has been like this for a couple of years though from what i've seen.

lets face it when the gully win the league vista can at least say that it couldn't of been done without their help, you know sending all those players down the road.

still atad hard to say who else will go up with the gully, given that there's only been 5 rounds played.

Agreed bit suprised about Imbros, but a couple of wins in a row and a few other teams will be up there too

Knights knew we would have a tough first 3 games - although Beach game we should have got more out of and they tell me we should have buried Croatia - also still think the Pontian game will be replayed - players have had their suspensions but hearing about the game is still to come!

Pontian and Gully are as good as we thought they would be and still to play the rest although think Plympton could have a long season

agreed knights, what's been happening down your end, injuries, bad luck????

still a wide open league, anyones at this stage with 39 points up for grabs.

whoever it may be who does go really needs to be a strong and clear winner in div 2 i recon to be a chance in div 1.but then what would i know.

A bit surprised with the Raptors. I knew they would take points of other teams though.

Surprised at the Vikings aswell, normally teams coming down from Div 1 are right around the mark from round 1.

West Beach have had a solid start aswell. Big test for them this week against Pontians, see where they stand on monday.

Not playing mate. Suffering with injuries for last couple of seasons. Might be time to hang up the boots I think.

The Klinsmann Report:

After five rounds I would say that the top five teams have all shown that they are serious contenders for the division 2 crown and promotion to division one next season. Those teams being, West Beach, Pontian Eagles, ISC Raptors, Tea Tree Gully City and Adelaide Croatia.

West Beach: Although they are currently at the top of the table, there still is a bit of mystery about Beach I feel. They are winning, but beating teams that they should beat. All of their wins have come from bottom five sides (Vikings, Knights, Bulldogs, Pumas) and have only faced one top five side, Raptors, and lost 3-2. We should get a better gauge of where Beach are at tomorrow after their top of the table clash against Pontian Eagles.

Pontian Eagles: Currently second on the table, and the general vibe suggests that this team is a favorite for promotion to division 1 next season. Although, their shock 3-1 defeat at the hands of Adelaide Croatia asks some questions, this is a strong side and we'll probably see them in the top two at the duration of the season.

ISC Raptors: Has become the current surprise of the season. With their most recent result, a 3-2 away win over Beach, teams will know their in for a contest when they face Raptors. Only question, can this form be sustained?

Tea Tree Gully City: A strong side, who run all day long. Have drawn at home with Raptors and Croatia; and were marginally defeated by Pontians, 1-0 away. Three of five games against tough sides, and still sit in fourth. More good things to come for this side I feel.

Adelaide Croatia: Quietly showing the division that they are intent on taking this thing out. Outside their 4-1 loss to Pumas in the first round, this team has put in steady results. 2-1 over Raptors and 3-1 over Pontian, plus a 2-2 draw away to Gully. Getting results when needed it seems, just can't afford to throw away points against lower rung teams if they are to finish in the top couple.

Top 5 Sunday Div 2 Clubs: (based on results v quality of opposition)
1. Adelaide Croatia
2. ISC Raptors
3. Pontian Eagles
4. Tea Tree Gully City
5. West Beach

Remember, this is just an opinion, and it's a long season. In the next couple of rounds it could all change.

Klinsmann to be honest mate i think your right on the ball with everything you just posted. I definetly think that we will see where West Beach fit after their game with Pontians tomorrow.

After such an in depth report you might get a phone call from Les Murray to see if you want a spot on the World Game :D

whichever 2 teams get promoted to division 1 will automatically go straight down again.

its as simple as that.

theres really probably only 6 teams in the entire sunday league competition that could put their hand up and honestly boast in saying we deserve to be where we are.
