sad day indeed with the passing away of Eliz Down life member and contributor on this forum Steve Lamb. Certainly a larger than life character and great lad all round. the banter behind the goals at the Downs end just wont be the same. Your not a proper opposition defender / goalkeeper unless you've been on the end of Leggas sledges. RIP mate.

Massive loss to the Downs, Legga was at the centre and the heart of the Downs, his funny comments from behind the goal, his brilliant work as MC at the Club on gamedays and functions.
All Clubs lose a game or two, but when you lose a bigger than life character and great person, it cuts so deep.

I was one of those defenders copping an ear full for 90mins but he would be first to come up in the bar after the game and have a chat

I hope the Downs folk put on a big show to recognise one of the true legend of your club
