Adelaide Pumas Seeking Goalkeepers
Competing in Saturday Div2 - Adelaide Pumas are seeking goalkeepers. With potential to play in any of our 3 mens teams, the door is open to players of all abilities.
We welcome all players for any position, but as seems to be the norm for many clubs, we currently have a shortage of goalkeepers.
Training is held every Monday and Wednesday night from 6:15 @ Thomas Turner Reserve (Geraldine St, Valley View).

With dollars freed up from the exodus of first team players last season, is there any incentive for any potential goalkeepers.... not that I’m asking for myself but surely any potential goalkeepers out there would want to know....

No one's getting paid this season N8. Incentive is the chance to play Div.2 A grade. If thats not enough, then we'll go with what we've got.n8 wrote:With dollars freed up from the exodus of first team players last season, is there any incentive for any potential goalkeepers.... not that I’m asking for myself but surely any potential goalkeepers out there would want to know....

Surely coaching is a gimme and if someone is a keeper they'd have gloves already.n8 wrote:LUFC_MOT wrote:No one's getting paid this season N8. Incentive is the chance to play Div.2 A grade. Fees are paid by EVERY player this season, keeper or not.
If people are only interested in joining the club to see what they can get out if it, we're more than happy not to have them at the club at all.

I think he might have been referring to a goalkeeper coach and specific training.LUFC_MOT wrote:Surely coaching is a gimme and if someone is a keeper they'd have gloves already.n8 wrote:LUFC_MOT wrote:

I'm also with the other two; Gloves, Fees or Kit is generally supplied to goalkeepers as an incentive

Re: Adelaide Pumas Seeking Goalkeepers
1. Yes I i was meaning goalkeeping coach as any half decent goal keeper wants to be trained and tested for the session not just belted with shots at the end of training for half an hour...
And
2. You do realise how much a goal keeper needs to outlay for a season?? At least 2 sets of gloves a season (and I’m sure Paul Merson will agree that’s probly generous probly more 3 or 4, training set game day set and usually get changed half way through the season) and then 2 or 3 goal keeping tops, couple sets of padded shorts or pants, you get the drift.... when I played my yearly spend on gloves would easily hit $300 plus, every club I’ve ever played for but 1 have always given something to there goalkeepers fees, gloves, gear etc
Clubs want a specialist position then you have to give something to get them! If a club wants a good coach I’m sure they offer something to get them...

Amateurs should be amateurs. Players that think clubs should provide everything for free and then still expect to get paid are n absolute joke. Ah loyalty where's it gone. The amateur league should be called the gypsy league, players leaving clubs for an extra $20 or a free top. Farkin Jokes

I haven’t found that at Bosa, but I’m sure it happens.

People have lost the meaning of the word..... players that do preseason at 3, 4, 5 clubs looking for the best offer maybe I'm too old-school....Ga Pala wrote:Amateurs should be amateurs.
