Modbury Soccer Club confirms that it will enter teams in the South Australian Amateur League (SAASL) in 2019. To support continued growth in demand for senior men's football, and to provide opportunities to players who wish to play for the club but can't commit the time required to play in the FFSA senior competitions, we are pleased to offer an alternative option in 2019.

Wasn't aware of that! But that's probably because everybody below them didn't want to travel to Pirie so they gave them a free pass

Took Lion’s spot in the Sunday Division when they switched to Saturdays.

Could've taken the Salisbury bit of the Name instead!! Something like the Salisbury Mods??? Might've gone down well with some of the Old Boys there.

Port Pirie never took USC Lions name when they entered the SAASL and got direct entry to Div 2

I said the same to the person who told me but he was insistent that the league had said they would be starting at the bottom for that reason.

Modbury is a totally new club isn’t it?
Port Pirie city were an established club so it’s not really a like for like comparison.

Not quite correct. The committee of the club was keen for a merger but Florina SC was a complicated set-up, with all major decisions needing to go through the Social Club. The soccer club was an arm of that organisation.
It gave us plenty of headaches.
Good luck to Jeff and the lads at Modbury. They’ll be in Sunday Div 4.
