In a playing sense probably quite well. Also I'd say that we had no trouble with Ghan this year - they won the first game, we won the second, they seemed to have improved a lot

Having said that they still have quite a few volatile players and if you wind them up, you never know

Dear Clubs – Over 35’s Sunday Division 9

It has come to the attention of the League that there may be several discrepancies in relation to the Over 35’s competition and results of certain fixtures.
These allegations have caused concern regarding the integrity of the Over 35 League standings and will be investigated by the SAASL Administration.
This is very disappointing considering the Over 35’s division has always been considered a ‘social’ competition.

The allegations being investigated include
1. Clubs playing ineligible or unregistered players and benefitting from a result,
2. Clubs playing fixtures where ‘forfeits’ should have been recorded and the lodging a teamsheet/result as a true record of the match
3. Clubs seeking to gain an unfair advantage by raising integrity issues against other Clubs

A recent ruling in regards to a fixture where it was alleged a forfeit should be recorded, will also be reviewed in relation to the above.

Therefore, the final League Ladder standings for the Over 35’s Division 9 will not be declared by the League until the Investigation is completed and a determination is endorsed by the Management Committee.

Should any Over 35’s team be found to have breached the SAASL Codes of Conduct or the Competition Rules and is found to have brought the game into disrepute, the Club may be be sanctioned with any one or combination of the following penalties;
· Award the match, and any applicable championship points for a win, to the opposing team and/or;
· Fine the club an amount not exceeding $500 for each and every such offence and/or;
· Suspend the club for a given number of games or weeks, whichever is the longer period and/or;
· Ban the person who had played or attempted to play and/or ;
· Suspend the Club and impose any such penalty as it deems fit.

Further, we advise that the parent Clubs of the Over 35’s teams will be held responsible for the Conduct of their teams in relation to any matter as described above.

In order to expedite this matter, you will be given until 4pm on Thursday 20th September to provide a statement of you Clubs position in regards to the issues detailed above.
If any Club wishes to declare they have breached the rules, this will be taken into consideration in regard to any sanctions or if any Club has any allegations in relation to any of the above, please submit these immediately.

Further, should the League not be in a position to declare the League standings by Wednesday 26th September 2018, the Management Committee may determine that the Over 35’s Cup Final may not proceed for 2018.

We trust that the teams and the Clubs understand the seriousness of this matter and will provide due consideration in their response.

so I'm hearing (happy to be corrected if not true) but Modbury are trying to get the game between Gardens and Old boys over turned because Old Boys played an unregistered player meaning the score of 13-0 gets moved to a forfeit and they win the league on goal difference.. But then they're the team that filled out a team sheet as played when it should of been entered as a forfeit, anybody happy to confirm or deny???
Like I said just what I heard.. And imo I don't think the result should be changed between the Gardens game either, punishing them for doing nothing wrong seems harsh especially when they weren't told and didn't get a chance to chase down the score difference on the last game...
