Cup games
Just watched Inter vs Wanderers - Wanderers won on penalties. 1-1 all full time. The referee and one of the linesmen were atrocious!
Player down injured a Wanderers player was hit begins play! TBH no one seen it, he got up told the linesman it was number 12 so he sent him off? Wasn't number 12! Inter down to 8 men 10 minutes of extra time to go he blew full time whistle to go to penalties??
A couple of inspectors watching the game, what an absolute disgrace the SAASL and the referees association is to let a "trainee ref" and that's being polite do a game like this, out of his depth. Good luck to Wanderers
Poor form by the referee and officials in charge today!

Re: Cup games
Not to mention the yellow he gave Inter reserves captain. In the refs word "im not sure who yelled it but you are the captain here is a yellow". The game was played in good spirits but the ref made it all about him. Its not good when the oficials assessor is there and says that he had a perfect game.

Refs looking after Refs, the inspectors are a bigger joke fools telling fools they done a good job!

At least you acknowledge the Wanderers player was hit, maybe the player who did the hitting should have taken responsibility?

Re: Cup games
He also got told by an inspector that extra time was only 10 minutes each way, (which is wrong) so after playing 15 in the first half he only played 5 in the 2nd to make it 20 minutes. So not only has an inspector relayed the wrong info to him regarding extra time, once you play 15 you have to play the same in the 2nd as both halves have to be equal. The Eagle wrote:Agreed bizarre refereeing and some very strange callsLRO wrote:Just watched Inter vs Wanderers - Wanderers won on penalties. 1-1 all full time. Re: Cup games
Certainly one of the strangest games I have ever been involved in, for me there were a number of incidents that would send even the most calm of us off the deep end but I would like to take the opportunity to thank Brad Donovan and his players for not letting it get out of hand.
Tough way to end a game on penalties when both sides put in so much effort during the game. Certainly marred by some strange refereeing. For the record our player that went down in the first half has broken his wrist and will have surgery today so we are wishing him a speedy recovery.
All the best to Inter for the rest of the year and onward.

Yes the referring at times was questionable both ways but it did not decide the game. In the reserves you have to expect to get officials that may be less experienced as they have to start somewhere. The old boy inspectors who should know better did not help the case.chunky-monkey wrote:He also got told by an inspector that extra time was only 10 minutes each way, (which is wrong) so after playing 15 in the first half he only played 5 in the 2nd to make it 20 minutes. In a way Inter should consider themselves lucky as when they went down to 8 men (2 red and an injury) extra time was then whistled to an end and went to penalties, despite 10 minutes was still remaining with Wanderers in a very advantages position with a few men up.

WOW - What an update
Refs report states the Linesman seen #12 get the Wanderers player in a headlock and punch him in the face...... NEVER HAPPENED so I hope the SAARA and the inspector that was there and the referee that was there are ready to be challenged.
Just admit you made a mistake with the send off - don't make up a story

i didnt see any of the incident in question but i do not understand what is in it for the linesman to fabricate a story???LRO wrote:WOW - What an update

Ha hahahahaha - if that linesman is the same one I saw ref then I'm not surprised by the report being a work of fiction - got form for it!LRO wrote:WOW - What an update
