Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Some of these clubs over the past couple of years have continually increased their fees by $200 + per year due to their own arrogance that parents/players will just always pay, but then struggle to explain why such a large increase is justified from the previous year.
I have no problem in paying for private school fees as they provide in writing exactly what you are getting for the years school fees & where the years major expenses are.
How many of these clubs actually put in writing to players & parents prior to trials why fees have increased by $200 + from the previous year, what are the clubs biggest expenses, how much is a club spending on senior coach & senior player payments, junior coach payments, specialised junior TD’s, what value do you get for your fees so you can hold them accountable if they don’t deliver on what they promise.
Players & parents are becoming more aware of how these clubs operate only to fund their senior teams & more are choosing to move to smaller junior clubs that are more focused on junior player development which is starting to impact on the larger clubs having reduced junior player numbers from previous years.
So ask lots of questions of your chosen club, if your not happy with the answers there are plenty of other clubs out there where players can still enjoy their football, be challenged & continue to improve as a footballers.

I agree, I want a Porsche for the price of an Barina.

Pushing the envelope at $1400 junior fees reeks of arrogance.
It might be their unique way of avoiding the junior trials dramas of 2016 and 2017.
Or are they offering overs to entice coaches for next year and therefore need the money?
Memo to the unsuspecting parents: don't get sucked in by the hollow promises (again).

Yet the sheep keep on parting with the dollars for the privilege of saying they played for this club.
They don't seem to realize this isn't the big daddy that it used to be.

They have to fund their Seniors next championship with imported players. They have no decent Juniors.
Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Oh , that makes it 2 clubs charging $1400 then.
The strong word on the street is that AC is the one charging $1400.
Whether the others follow, who knows?
Funny how the very people who whinged and moaned about fees and everything else about the club not many years ago are the same ones encouraging the fee rise. I guess when you're exempt from paying , it makes a difference to the mindset.
Over to you Adelaide KRO

Fball12, you need to realize that too many people who simply don't understand the game are in positions of influence at many clubs.
They may be cricket experts or Aussie rules experts, and know nothing about our game. However when you get club bosses who like to suck up to these experts , you get what you get

Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
You'll probably find clubs with a synthetic pitch will be including a 'repair fee' into rego's so in 7 or 8 years they have the funds to relay the surface.
Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Ludicrous.
Who in their right minds would pay anything close to $1,400, let alone over $1k.
Two or three kids at the club and you're up for $4k.
And for what quality?
Parents should revolt at AGMs. Lol.

Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Rego fee for a junior team $285 per team
NPL Junior fees (inc insurance) = $75.50 per player
Ref fees between $55 and $65 per game depending on age group
Kits = $200 to $300 (at cost) depending on how much you make them buy!
Having run the numbers for the club I am involved with, the true cost per JPL player in 2017 season was $441 each which which included the above PLUS the pitch hire at weekends, cup games, the odd forfeit fine and their share of a huge electric bill for the training lights!

Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Remembering also that not all clubs pay electricity, and if council pitches then hiring rates are only about $20 per hour. I'd put that at about $150 per playerAndman69 wrote:Rego fee for a junior team $285 per team ($19 per player)

So, I'd say those figures are about right.

Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Our club has its Annual Report available to members on it’s website. The Apparel was a third of its membership income with facility hire a close second.
Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
If the club owns it's facilities then there are further upkeep expenses and water bills etc. The variance per club could be quite a lotAndman69 wrote:Rego fee for a junior team $285 per team

Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Factor in Coaching Fees.
at NPL Level you are suppose to have minimum C-Licence from 12 -17.
$1000 per coach. If u have JPl and JSL that is Potentially $12K.
and the TD has to have a B Licence - $2500

AC is intending to charge $1400 for next season.
Not Campbelltown (as far as I'm aware)

Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Campbelltown held their fees for about 2 years but have increased by about $150 over the last 2 years, i would hope the fees would be capped this year and i am also hearing trials will be conducted as well.
Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
It’s probably Adelaide City, juniors have been subsidizing seniors players wages for years and now that AC have a general manager somehow that has to be paid so up go the fees
Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
UNisa. Qualified coaches and giving those bigger clubs a shake up. Moved from the bigger club probably the $1400 club and couldn’t be happier. Better coaching and more importantly kids happy and player development. Don’t be fooled that bigger means better.

What do you mean he told me how he was at Bolton and how many kids he made into pros and mine would be next.

he was getting mugs to cough up $1500 last to year to play. I saw him earlier in the season giving a player a bollocking after the game and he’d only watched 5 minutes of it.God is an Englishman wrote:Pie and Bovril wrote:Andre is a fraud. Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
I can tell you now Unisa juniors are not paying $1500 to play. Whilst we have had positive experiences with this person I find it inappropriate that you post negative comments about an individual whilst you hide behind your forum names. Andre has his own coaching business that he runs but don’t get that confused with a club which he is a part of together with many individuals. If you want to start naming and shaming you may need to start a separate thread as we all have stories.
Re: $1400 junior fees for 2019
Why anyone would spend $1400 at AC when considering their unsuccessful junior program is beyond me.Chocco wrote:It’s probably Adelaide City, juniors have been subsidizing seniors players wages for years and now that AC have a general manager somehow that has to be paid so up go the fees
