Unfortunately, the FFSA did not provide a referee to this game and the ABE club referee did not allow a legimate goal to ABE in the first half as he was not certain whether the ball went through the goal or side netting.BillShankly wrote:Under 14s

By all accounts it was a goal as he initially allowed the goal but he was " convinced by the Birkalla linesman it wasnt although i do noy know how he can tell as he was on the far side of the goal.
I say bad sportmanship by the Birkalla linesman and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Other than that it was an entertaining game.

Why didnt the club ref check the nets before kick off especially as he was from the home side.? If what you say about the Birks linesman is true that he clearly saw that the ball went into the goal then it it is poor sportsmanship not to point it out to the ref.Arturo wrote:Unfortunately, the FFSA did not provide a referee to this game and the ABE club referee did not allow a legimate goal to ABE in the first half as he was not certain whether the ball went through the goal or side netting.BillShankly wrote:Under 14s

Having done the lines myself I can say that often it is difficult to see immediately when a ball hits the side net whether it is inside or outside until it comes to rest or keeper retrieves the ball, so would like to give benefit of doubt.

This team (Campbelltown) lost to the Knights in the cup 6-2 which makes the knights the team to watch again this year, wow.
