The socialist state of Yugoslavia had decent teams which massively under performed,because the powers above always gave the coach orders to pick a certain number of players from each nationality per squad.Still not saying that they would of kicked arse by having a different selection policy,but who knows what could have been.Croatia came 3rd in FIFA 98 with only a 1/3rd of the Yugoslav teams stars in 1990.
