When will things change ??
A very ordinary day at Ingle Farm yesterday which unfortunately took the shine off a very entertaining game.
So we have a game where 2 teams are having a real crack with one looking to stay in touch and the other looking to strengthen their spot on top of ladder.
A really good crowd in attendance including a lot of woman and kids young and older.
A few spot fires during the game but nothing untoward given what was at stake.
Late in 2nd half and a second yellow to IF striker ( a tangle of legs so may have been a tad unlucky )and the day turned to shite.
In the end had to be escorted off the ground by club officials whilst still abusing the ref.
Then proceeds to rip his shirt off and make a bee line around the pitch to take on the Gardens crowd who were jeering him.
Fights up on the hill in front of clubrooms breaking out.
More shirts coming off ( must be a new trend )
Some big knob behind the southern goals threatening the Gardens keeper and then turns his foul mouth to 2 older Gardens gents threatening to knock their teeth out
Swearing, abuse, threats and all in front of women and young kids.
Seriously WTF is going on and what is going to be done about it??
Can't just be pushed to the SAASL to fix..
Clubs must take some control as it getting out of hand !!
It is a game of football FFS !!

Will be interesting to see a reply on this from Farm?? Were you there as a neutral or from Gardens? No kidding wrote:A very ordinary day at Ingle Farm yesterday which unfortunately took the shine off a very entertaining game.

In my time at Anfield we always said we had the best two teams on Merseyside - Liverpool and Liverpool reserves.

From your description it sounds (in fact you even implied he was probably unlucky to sent off), it's a passionate game and if you think you've been wronged to that extent then you don't normally calmly walk off as if nothing has happened. No kidding wrote:A very ordinary day at Ingle Farm yesterday which unfortunately took the shine off a very entertaining game.

Two sides to every story but you have to question, what were the crowd saying/doing to garner that reaction. What did the keeper and the 2 old blokes say/do to garner that reaction?
As for swearing, abuse and threats? If we worried about that then a game of football will never be played again.
Maybe it was worse than you have made it sound, but doesn't seem that big a deal to me.

See what comes out in Refs report.
Not a big deal ?? then I suggest I will let any others that were there yesterday judge that.
Suggest it was very close to game abandonment at one point.
Let me clarify by saying that it takes all parties to somewhat control this stuff not pointing the finger at IF !
You read stuff on this forum regularly about similar goings on..

It was freezing yesterday afternoon and no wonder fights broke out when the shirts came off just to stay warm ! Seriously these incidents just tarnishes the amateur league and dissuades good players from playing in the league as an alternative to federation league.

At no stage did a single fight break out, there may have been some chest pumping and
finger pointing but no fist were thrown. Farm ground marshals urshered their
spectators inside and after all the handbags were put down everyone went inside
for a beer and all was restored.

Sorry but if what No Kidding said is true, I don't care if you get sent off because of mistaken identity, incorrectly, or fairly. You don't rip your shirt off and storm around the other side of the pitch. I don't think anyone here would walk calmly off if they felt so aggrieved, but whatever the reason for the red card it doesn't allow you to act like a pork chop.God is an Englishman wrote:From your description it sounds (in fact you even implied he was probably unlucky to sent off), it's a passionate game and if you think you've been wronged to that extent then you don't normally calmly walk off as if nothing has happened. No kidding wrote:A very ordinary day at Ingle Farm yesterday which unfortunately took the shine off a very entertaining game.

If a player has to be escorted off the ground by a club official, then he's acting like a dickhead. It's an amateur game, have a rant as you're walking off sure, but to let yourself get wound up enough that you rip off your shirt and storm around to try and start arguments/fights with the opposition fans, just let it go. Because all of a sudden one hero in the crowd says/does something, then someone else jumps in and thats all the situation needs.
And for the record I take my son to games that have had colourful language in the past, he understands whats right and wrong and what can and can't be said, but why would I want to take my son to a game where a player is acting like a dickhead and trying to fight people? Braindead idiots some people.

I'd suggest merely by telling your son that this is what an idiot looks like, and that it wouldn't happen too often, fortunately, that he would have learned something at least. Also that shit sometimes happens in the real world.English wrote:Sorry but if what No Kidding said is true, I don't care if you get sent off because of mistaken identity, incorrectly, or fairly. So the issue moving forward regardless if police were called or whatever! The player that was sent off and I believe took his shirt off and went to the other side of the pitch to confront opposition spectators was suspended for 1 game?
That's why this type of thing will continue to happen

Re: When will things change ??
Rather than wait for the league to do something , what has the club down....
given it is one of their better players will it be swept under the carpet and be accepted as normal behaviour or will the club show a strong stance and extend his suspension .. we think we know the answer for that ... he will be playing in 2 weeks time

....and when a "lower division" side made of new arrivals does it, there will be a call for an immediate kicking out of the league of this team.C U Next Tuesday wrote:Rather than wait for the league to do something , what has the club down....

That's why this type of thing will continue to happen
What an absolute joke if true!!
Two messages here
1. The league condones this type of behaviour
2. The league accepts the fact our referees can be treated with absolute contempt and we condone aggressive, abusive behaviour against them that requires a player being escorted from the pitch by his own club offiicials..
The game is in good hands !!

League can only do what the ref writes in his match report.....if the ref didnt inform of the incident after than its hard for the league to discipline correctly... but what will the club do ....No kidding wrote:LRO wrote:So the issue moving forward regardless if police were called or whatever!
