Re: Amatuer rep team
I personally think at least a zone competition to start off would be great.
I think the biggest problem is going to be that the amateur comp in SA is the only one that hasn't joined the FFA, thus two seperate competitions.
I doubt we would be able to play the amateur rep sides affiliated with the FFA based on the whole insurance issue.
For example the Knights were asked to play in a charity comp at the start of the season and due to the competition being associated with the FFA we were told we could not enter.
I really think the Fed teams inolves were not happy with a tough, hard AMATEUR side competing

Re: Amatuer rep team
Sorry lads to change topic here, is there going to be a State Team for the Collegiate League at all being a FFSA competition? Who are some of the better players in the league?
Re: Amatuer rep team
I just received this email:
CITY TAKE ON COUNTRY IN FFSA CHALLENGE MATCH
The Football Federation SA is proud to announce a match billed as City versus Country with the Collegiate Soccer League Select team taking on a Country Select side on Friday 7th August at Hindmarsh Stadium.
The game will be played as a curtain raiser to the A-League Round 1 match between Adelaide United FC and Perth Glory FC.
The Collegiate Soccer League has existed since 1981 and has grown substantially since its formation. Today in excess of 800 players from metropolitan Adelaide compete in a very high standard amateur competition.
“Football Federation SA is please to provide the best Regional and Collegiate League players with an opportunity to showcase their talents before an A League fixture at Hindmarsh Stadium. The game held last week between the Western Border Select and Riverland Select was a great success and both groups enjoyed the experience and can’t wait to get back to Hindmarsh to represent the Regional Select team,” FFSA CEO Michael Carter said.
Collegiate Soccer League Chairperson Dino Mancini said today he was delighted for their association to participate in the match.
"This match represents an enormous opportunity for the public to view the many talented players competing in the Collegiate Soccer League - an amateur competition comprised of clubs representing colleges, secondary schools and tertiary institutions whose participants are supporters of the endeavours of the FFSA and FFA in unifying, developing and promoting football in this state and country", said Mancini
This match along with the Regional Challenge game will form part of the selection process for the official Football Federation SA Senior Amateur State Side.
