Re: W league
The W-League and the individual clubs have been doing a great job on social media of announcing key signings throughout the last two months.
Obviously they all haven't finalised their squads given the NWSL just wrapped up two days ago, so understandable we've not seen full final squads.

I'll put it this way.billy the kid wrote:So what's the relevance of the NWSL and AUFC selection? Please pardon my ignorance.
Of the four imports AUFC had last year, all four played in the current season of the NWSL. Most were at Chicago Red Stars, who were eliminated merely a couple weeks ago.
Of the finalists on Monday, there were four Australian internationals that are returning to the W-League.
As you can imagine, some decisions get delayed as a result.

Good answer for those that don't get it.

Say which ever way you want................................Still doesn't wash with me. Maybe I need a bath not a shower.
My parting words "accept mediocrity I administration and performance will follow suit". All contracts have been issued and signed sealed and delivered. The imports (visa players) have been selected.
Let's roll out the squad and get cracking.

Re: W league
Does Adelaide United have a W League section on their website?
I can't find the squad list and friendly news.
I thought they played a friendly this weekend in Melbourne against City?
Have I missed it?

Re: W league
Had a looksee at that website over the last week or so ad there's bugger all about the W-League squad/news, etc.
Seems like season 2017/18 will be a case of "same old. same old" Take a look at Adelaide Now website and AFL-W has its own link. W-League? ZERO.
AUFC website ? It's like the W-League team doesn't exist.

Yes and what about Ally Ladas? I thought that she established herself in the squad last year and showed great potential. I would have thought that she would have been offered a contract by now. I just loved her goal in that smashing of Western Sydney last season. I will be returning to Oz around Xmas time and hope to see these two and the imports. Gee the club has been very quiet about its W-League team.

Re: W league
3 games in (short season) so what do we think of the team so far? The USA girls are for mine the standouts in this team and if Danielle was available last Friday, I think they would have beaten Brisbane. I think all in all the team is doing well and against a Kerrless Perth, they took away the points here at home.
Local WNPL players haven't been where I expected to see them and I was wondering if successive WNPL/W League/WNPL/ W League seasons with a proper break/pre-season is beginning to take its toll on the local girls? Or is it that we’re too focused on the professional USA players? We saw it with Brisbane when the 6 Matilda players returned, they weren’t as explosive or influential as I would have expected. First half at least however, in the 2nd half they were dominant. AUFC’s visa players, as in years gone by, tend to demand most of the play and our local girls seem to be only supporting cast members and don’t usually get a lot of the ball. It needs to be a full team effort. This is not only an AUFC problem, the star always get most of the focus on TV and media generally because they stand out.
Eliza has been awesome in goals and is a force to be reckoned with. High balls especially she’s exceptional as are those shots that come mid-way. Low balls ? Haven’t seen many however, I reckon she’ll eat them up.
Will it be a tight season? Looks like it. AUFC traditionally take a while to gel however, the signs are there that they are doing this far quicker than in prior seasons. The task is to get our local WNPL players more involved in the game and for the visa players to use them far more often.
