Spend some but be careful THE TAX MAN AND THE FFSA are watching, keep your books up to-date. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL
I think you'll find that the money doesn't need to be declared to the tax man as it is considered a hobby. You would only need to declare if it was over a certain amount. As for the FFSA or the SAASL, there is no by law in the leagues rules saying that clubs cannot pay players. We have checked this with them. I agree that clubs need to be careful with paying players and it doesn't instantly give you success but the amounts that some clubs pay is just a reimbursement for costs incurred. Its hardly going to make players rich.
Should check your facts before posting next time about the ATO and the FFSA as we did.
You can reimburse players expences up to $99.00 without affecting there amateur statis... Im not shaw why your all so concerned about paying players in the amateur league it's been happening for years. Im not shaw of any 1st division club who dos'nt pay? I could be wrong but I definatly know that the strong 1st division clubs pay there players for a win. I believe as long as the club an afford it & payment is within the rules what's the problem? I would like to know the last club to win a 1st division championship who didnt pay there players some think!!!!!!!
What about players who have to pay the club to play? Do the players think they are getting value for their dollar from the club?
Or is it worth it to just wear their clubs strip and badge with pride while catching up with a few mates over a few drinks and smokes?
Interested to hear from people that play or follow Croatia on this topic.
there you go. we are on page 3 . think i will aim for 6 pages next time. i have to pay to play. and yes its worth it. lot of great blokes at west beach. always up for a bevvy or 10. and in the end its the players attitudes that make or break a club, whether they get paid or not
