WNPL 2017 - Moves and Shakers
It's almost here...2017 WNPL season arrives soonish.
All the best to all the existing and possibly new teams in the WNPL. I wish you all the greatest success.
What do I know and what can you add to the discussion:
Ad City - New coach. Players staying some exiting. Is the new coach busy recruiting from other clubs? My spies say yes of course. The promise of the big time is too hard to resist. Good luck PZ
Some exciting moves to new clubs for players of Sturt and possibly Para Hills. Have the "new" clubs to WNPL managed to recruit players from these teams that want to continue in the WNPL?
For mine the biggest improvers and shaker will be KM and Westies. KM's magic will continue to shine and keep existing WNPL coaches on their guard for an assault on the league in 2017. Has westies recruited well enough.
The SA WNPL has gained some excellent exposure during the W League season and the local girls have done the WNPL in SA a great service.
Metro will be a concern. Where they go will be a mystery as will Fulham. Can both teams keep up the pace of 2016? And have they recruited well to cover losses. Max and Marie are experienced heads who will only want the ultimate success and will demand excellence.
Adelaide Uni has some work to do. Reliance upon the small BRILLIANT forward is a risky move. Maybe greater team discipline is the secret to success. TJ will no doubt address this one.
As I said...All the best for season 2017. The players are the most important asset. Without them w have not game.

Re: WNPL 2017 - Moves and Shakers
Looking forward to the new season.
march 3 or maybe 10th I think I heard for the first game, not long to go.
From what I hear it will be the top 5 striving for a finals position.
Metro, City, Westies, Fulham and Uni
While the bottom 3 will fight off for wooden spoon and relegation
Cumby, Inter and Campbelltown.
Uni could be big improver this season if Cathryn Ebbs is back and Laura Johns there for whole season and they have retained their list plus picked up the blonde striker from Cumby (might help Rojas) and a Sturt player or two.
I agree BTK Westies should do well but competition will be tough for top 4.
I reckon they might have another 3 point deduction coming for NPL breach but they won't be alone from what I hear one other team to get a 3 point deduction and 2 or 3 other teams to get a 1 point dedcuction.
Early days yet they might still get the required teams up, all will declare they have them
Metro still very strong and well coached so will be up the top.
City hard to know with changes but always up there.
*Revised and clarified for the who keeps trying to reply and make something out of the post that isn't there.

Re: WNPL 2017 - Moves and Shakers
There may still be moves across the Prems teams with players probably checking out other opportunities.
Deductions for ??? Westies lost out on a top 4 finals spot last year because of a deduction. Hopes its not a Admin error ? And there others too with pint deductions pending? WOW.
Big question is where will MJ land this season? Saw her pic in today's paper training with the crows women's team....

No idea if there are points deduction pending but I am suggesting a couple of clubs won't come up with the NPL criteria again as per last season and receive point deductions like last year.billy the kid wrote:There may still be moves across the Prems teams with players probably checking out other opportunities.

Thanks Princess
MJ is in the paper training so I expect she'll be playing AFL. All the best with AFL. It's a quicker game than soccer.

Think you'll find there are a number of girls trying to play both AFL and soccer. If they can balance their training days, WNPL games are Friday night while AFL is Sunday I believe, so they can make it work.billy the kid wrote:Thanks Princess

Good luck remaining injury free playing WNPL on a friday night and then fronting up to the rigours of AFL two days later.

Just what I was thinking. Trying to do both, could mean not being able to do either.

Adrian is a great coach who will steer Inter clear of the relegation battle
