Under what logic would the idea of a Northern zoned team seem economically sound when the cheapest HAL entry ticket is $25 and the highest youth unemployment in Australia is in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide?BeNatural wrote:I said a FFSA backed team, it wont be a new team as such, but made up of a number of current clubs.Stuckey wrote:Development-wise that sounds good. But the FFSA has zero fans. Who is going to attend an FFSA FC team?BeNatural wrote:It has been good publicity for West Adelaide and Adelaide City over the past month in terms of them trying to get into the A-League or second division.
But, i can tell you that if there was to be a new team in those competitions, it will be a FFSA backed uniformed club, similar to the approach Football West has currently in the plans.
The point I see of a second club would be to offer a point of difference to AU. Whether that be location, representation or image. I can't see FFSA being significantly different to what AU represents.
It will be made up from a particular zone.
Originally the plans were for a northern Adelaide team backed by FFSA, but since then Adelaide United found this issue out, and did a deal with Playford Council.

Come on OM, any chance of you answering this question?God is an Englishman wrote:What is ethnic about it?Old Master wrote:Actually, isn't Manchester, sorry Melbourne, City's badge ethnic?
It looks very much like the original MC badge to these tired, old eyes.
There is still no way WAH will get into the A League, as they have no supporters, well nowhere near the League's basic requirement of 5,000, potentially.

Probably the same logic that thinks a 2nd Adelaide club is go to do well financially.Lucas Leiva wrote:Under what logic would the idea of a Northern zoned team seem economically sound when the cheapest HAL entry ticket is $25 and the highest youth unemployment in Australia is in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide?BeNatural wrote:I said a FFSA backed team, it wont be a new team as such, but made up of a number of current clubs.Stuckey wrote: Development-wise that sounds good. $25????
Well if I went to The Adelside Casino on A Saturday night this week it will cost me $5 for a Fish And Chip meal, GO to the Sports bar while EPL is on and buy Carlsberg for $5 a bottle .
For my $25 and the football is better.

That huge area west of Adelaide makes it a no brainer.Baptista wrote:I do not see the issue at all, would you rather West Adelaide roll out Rob Di troia as their proposed A-League coach?
However I believe if Adelaide City or West Adelaide want to be realistically considered as a second A-League team in SA they will need to change their badge and strip in order to be truly an Australian Club (not that I agree with the FFA direction on this, I would love to see teams of ethnic background in the national league).
I actually think West Adelaide have a better chance than Adelaide City to obtain an A-League license as they can represent a geographical area unlike Adelaide City who really have no base to market to in light of Adelaide United.
It would be great to have a club from the Western suburbs to support!
Population 2mill was it?

Re: WA signing fowler
This HAL stuff for West Adelaide wont commence until well into 2018......they will still have an NPL/SL precence in South Australia so I cant see Robbie DiTroia out of a role but that whoever is the first team NPL coach will have great opportunities and will have input in the HAL system for WA.. I reckon good on them and Adelaide City (if they are submitting likewise) for trying to expand the National top level in South Australia. They have plans and vision which is aiming for the topand can only mean inproving the depth of competition in SA. Cheers geoffp

More SA Govt money into soccer pitches all good.
But why is FFSA charging over the top fees for clubs to use them?
Wrong for tax payer funding .

Think you will find most of money is federal not state for this program.
FFSA have a over supply of clubs wishing to use Shores/ Elite, with one club signing for 5 years
and other signing for 3 years in 2016.
Not sure about over the top fees but all facilities are user pay.
Would have thought if fees were over the top clubs would not be clambering to
lease these facilities.
Re: WA signing fowler

Ha ha
It is FFSA jumping on scarcity of supply so demand high fees for something they do not really own but just administer a disgrace this set up.

Another reason FFSA clubs using these facilities are forced to charge high junior fees.

Have the people that ppay those fees to the FFSA told you directly that they are too high?
