It'll be interesting to see who Ange's goes with in the DM role. IMO Milligan has been far better there than Jedinak. Plus Irvine and Jeggo have been playing regularly in that position for their clubs as well.SOCCEROOS SQUAD V THAILAND

Is James Jeggo the new Matt McKay? ie just run around a lot and pass to people that can actually play.Stuckey wrote:It'll be interesting to see who Ange's goes with in the DM role. Re: The road to Moscow
Well we had 18 months of seeing what he can do at AU. He's obviously not the complete player (at least he wasn't when he left). But he's cemented the DM role at Sturm Graz now who are 3 point clear on top of the Austrian Bundesliga.Brian the Postman wrote:Is James Jeggo the new Matt McKay? ie just run around a lot and pass to people that can actually play.Stuckey wrote:It'll be interesting to see who Ange's goes with in the DM role. I think Ange could do a lot worse than offer him time in Bangkok.

Amor stated Jimmy had improved beyond belief since he took over the coaching reigns, so Ange must believe the same.

Re: The road to Moscow
OK, no surprise that McGowan was dropped. But to get told about the axing by text?? Confirmed on Saturday morn on Ditts' Triple M Show.
I wonder if Ange had delegated that task to some FFA operative or underling. If the text came from Ange himself, then that was not bloody good enough.
Ange has done great things for Brisbane Roar and Australia. But everyone can improve and that bit of man management was not good enough. And talking about improving, I wish Ange would look at the camera when doing interviews instead of down at the ground. Is it shyness or is he just gathering his thoughts after a searching question? Maybe the Lowy firm could pay for some media training for him. And a nutritionist.
Anyway, as long as he leads us to at least 2nd place and avoid that perilous play-off position. Still have to negotiate some tricky ties and that trip to Tokyo.

Getting around Tokyo isn't that difficult and it's not compusory to wear a tie.

Yeah, ok Vernon & Bomboff - your responses semi funny. But what do ya think of Ange sacking a player by text message?
And does Ange need media training to look at the camera during interviews?

Re: The road to Moscow
Did the player answer their phone when Ange tried ringing. Ange no doubt sent a text as an alternative to make sure the player concerned wasn't having to second guess? Was the player sacked or just not required for this game?Con M wrote:Yeah, ok Vernon & Bomboff - your responses semi funny. But what do ya think of Ange sacking a player by text message?

Does Ange's on camera demeanour affect the way the team plays?
Are you just an over officious busybody with too much time on your hands?
Time for some righteous indignation

Nah, Stich That. Quite busy actually with my 6-day-a-week job. Ya didn't read all my first post properly. I said Ange has done wonderfully well with South Melbourne in yesteryear and Brisbane Roar & Australia more recently.Stitch This wrote:Did the player answer their phone when Ange tried ringing. But that thing about the text was from the horse's mouth, as it were. And of course his on-camera presentation doesn't affect how the team plays. But as our National Team coach he has a high profile in Australia's media and can improve IMO. Now, STFU or I might have to find the time to stitch you up on some of your many howler posts.

Re: The road to Moscow
I don't think any player is effectively "sacked", more like not chosen this time around. We wouldn't say Tim Cahill was "sacked" by not being picked.Con M wrote:Yeah, ok Vernon & Bomboff - your responses semi funny. But what do ya think of Ange sacking a player by text message?

BUT, text messages are an easy out these days, and some people don't even have the minerals to even do that either.
Modern day ways, ho hum.

On CoastFM radio last Sunday morn (13/11) Ryan himself confirmed that was how that woeful communication was made. A couple of Panellists were none too impressed with that method.
And oh, Ange is still looking at the ground when he does TV interviews as he was this morn 15 Nov on FoxTV.
Minor issues, yes. But so easily fixed.

Re: The road to Moscow
Socceroos Vs Kruse.
How that bloke got 90 mins is beyond me. Any time the ball went near him that was the end of the attack. He must he played himself offside about 5 times.
I know beggars can't be choosers but surely offering players that aren't playing at all for their clubs isn't the best idea. He looked stuffs 15 mins in, why take Leckie off and leave a knackered Kruse on?
We definitely missed Juric's presence up front.
Lucky to get a point in the end.

No comments by dear Erica or Stitch That. Way past their bedtime to stay up and watch our National Team play live on TV.
