Well done young roos. Hoping they can replicate on bigger stages to come
I may not be perfect but I'm still the closest I have ever come across

The bigger stage is coming soon!Neil Nhill wrote:Well done young roos. Hoping they can replicate on bigger stages to come
U19 AFC championships start middle of October. It'll be interesting to see how much the squad changes. Surely they won't want to tinker with a winning squad too much.
Panos Armenakas has been on the bench for Udinese in the Serie A so surely he's worth calling up if he's willing to play!
Re: Young Socceroos - U20s
AFC championships are the big stage now for under-agers as world cup qualification is becoming less obtainable
look how far Aussie soccer has come

That's what qualification is.
If they were in the World Cup they would have qualified.
This tournament is the qualifiers.

Re: Young Socceroos - U20s
I sincerely apologise for the delay in updating you all on the AFC U19 championship.
But since Grosso hasn't updated us all we all can tell Australia must have won their first game.
1-0 v China. Next game is tomorrow v Uzbekistan.

Re: Young Socceroos - U20s
Looking at the squad as well. Interestingly Reno Piscopo of Inter-Milan Primavera side is part of the squad. I had heard he wasn't keen to play for Australia so that's great to hear.
Re: Young Socceroos - U20s
2-3 loss to Uzbekistan. Both of our goals came from penalties as well and the Uzbek captain was sent off in the second half.
China lost to Tajikistan who we play next so the winner of that game will most likely join the Uzbeks in the knock out stage.

0-0 draw with Tajikistan. We missed a penalty and had a player sent off.
Another Asian Youth Championship, another disappointment.

You aren't allowed to use junior results to assess our development programs.
How many of our current senior team are products of the national curriculum?

I'm not sure how to measure that without a large amount of research I can't be bothered doing.El Paso del Norte wrote:Every development initiative implemented since 2009Stuckey wrote:National curriculum as in the FoE? But 41 players have been called up to the Socceroos in the last 12 months. 18 of those players are players who made their professional debut at HAL level. 13 of the 41 also came thru the AIS during their youth.
