Andy Gray LOL

Post by King Henry Returns »

Andy Gray

AC Milan are 'ordinary' without Kaka, says the Grayster, who dismisses the rest of the team in a sentence. He says an all-English final is on the cards, with Chelsea the likeliest to join United....

Forget the two away goals. With one swing of Wayne Rooney's boot on Tuesday night the whole mindset of the tie changed in an instant. The pressure has been heaped on Milan, and I believe that Milan side is ordinary.
Not only will United get a result in Italy next week, they will beat Milan in their own backyard. I think they've got the Italians running scared - they're not a great team and they know it.
Sure, Kaka is brilliant but go through the team - the keeper is dodgy and the back four is creaking and should hold no fear for United's forwards. Anything else to be scared of? Pirlo? No. Seedorf? No. Ambrosini? No. Gilardino? Definitely not.

I believe we'll have an all-English final. The only question is whether Chelsea or Liverpool will be involved.
And it's advantage Chelsea after Wednesday night. Games between these two teams never produce goals, making a 1-0 lead even more precious than usual. The difference between the two teams was Didier Drogba - if he was wearing a red shirt, we'd be talking about a Liverpool win today.
I thought he was absolutely awesome. You can say what you like about all the amateur dramatics, but that man can be phenomenal. He is such a handful with his power and pace and the combination of him and Joe Cole gives Chelsea the capability of producing something out of absolutely nothing.
You'd have to say that Liverpool looked like they were missing that capability, and we can expect to see Peter Crouch brought in from the start for the second leg. He's no Drogba, but he has got the height to win balls in the air and give Liverpool something different from Craig Bellamy, who once again failed to make any impact on the game.
What we won't see from Liverpool is them going gung-ho for the goal they need at Anfield. Rafa Benitez is the most pragmatic of managers and he's more likely to go with similar tactics - Stevie Gerrard on the right to keep it tight, rather than please the fans by bringing him inside and using Jermaine Pennant. A goal from Chelsea would mean the end of the tie so we will see Liverpool take minimum risks. It's hard enough to score one goal against a resolute Chelsea, never mind three.
Chelsea will be happy to play in exactly the same way as they did in the second half at Stamford Bridge. They will allow Liverpool plenty of the ball, surrendering possession but ensuring that actual chances are few and far between. Knowing how good they are at that game, you would have to make them favourites to progress.
People make a lot of the Anfield crowd and yes, there is something special about that stadium on European nights, but we're talking about Chelsea and superstars of the game here. They're not going to be fazed by that atmosphere.
Liverpool fans might also grab some crumbs of the comfort from the fact that Chelsea have to face Bolton this weekend in a game they must win to stay in the title race, while Liverpool's first team can get a rest.
But when you look at the facts, you see that Chelsea made five changes from the side that played Newcastle at the weekend. They could afford to bring in Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Andrei Shevchenko, Ricardo Carvalho and Joh Obi Mikel, and they will likely make a similar amount of changes for Saturday's game.
They have players like Shaun Wright-Phillips, Michael Essien and Salomon Kalou to come in against Bolton and still challenge on both fronts.
United will not have the same luxury against Everton, who will look to take advantage of their desire to be economical with their energy by playing at a high tempo at Goodison Park and making the tired legs work.
Mind you, Everton have a disastrous record against United so who knows what will happen...getting exciting though isn't it?

Andy Gray u hav made a dick of yourself , congratulations.

 Andy Gray, you are a first class wanka!!! The eyetalians running scared?!?!? I think not! Nothing without Kaka, that was brillant, ManUSA will beat them in their own backyard... talk about following the hype, Andy is the biggest "anti-Liverpool, I've got a hard-on for ManUSA" commentator on F365.
