Re: England fans attacked
Generally English fans don't wear scarves across their face or knives. Are you suggesting the trouble in the stadium was the English?Bomber wrote:My guess is none of these people you refer to there are Russian (or French)God is an Englishman wrote:No, but I'll take the first hand stories from people I know there above the media and their bias.Grosso wrote:No one here has any idea whats going on France and who is starting this.

I'm sure Jamie Vardy's wife was the one leading all the trouble and that's why she was tear gassed and caught in the middle of it all.Bomber wrote:Not at all, but usually takes two to tango and clearly there was unrest prior to the match.
French police at a time when security should be at it's highest allowed a flare gun to be smuggled in. They're great at their job that lot.

Re: England fans attacked
So now the French police are finally coming to terms with the fact the approximately 500,000 England fans will be heading to Lens for the Wales game. Their advice is to watch the game in the Lille fans zone. Lille is where the Russians play on Wednesday
Re: England fans attacked
They dont know who is doing the initial provoking though. They assume because they're not part of their group they must be Russians.God is an Englishman wrote:No, but I'll take the first hand stories from people I know there above the media and their bias.Grosso wrote:No one here has any idea whats going on France and who is starting this.

There's a third and fourth option. They could be Ukrainian nazis who want to see Russia kicked out of the tournament.

Ok, either way. The English are just defending themselves and in some cases their families.

Re: England fans attacked
no...i meant before they arrived and during the time they were smashing up pubs....
theres no doubt that the French ultras and the russian hooligans have engaged in premeditated attacks but all weve heard from the english has been....
its the schedulings fault
its the french ultras fault
its the russins fault
its the french police's fault
its the english newspapers fault
insert anyone else here except 'english supporters' (and no...not all, just a small minority who think its their right as visitors to another country to get tanked, sing nationalistic songs including chants insulting their hosts, cause damage to property etc etc)
noone wishes injury let alone death to any footballing fan especially family minded supporters but for many french locals, it would be hard to forget and forgive the following headline....

Chelsea have strongly condemned a group of their supporters who have been caught on video singing a racist song and preventing a black man from boarding the Paris Métro.

That whole incident there is one of the reasons why the media are scum in England. The whole incident wasn't racist at all.MegaBonus wrote:no...i meant before they arrived and during the time they were smashing up pubs....

Can you show me where England fans were smashing up pubs before they were attacked by either the french or the russians?

It's a very long song but here's a link to it. Not sure why you want to know.MegaBonus wrote:not sure how to retweet video footage by a guy called owen humphries...look it up yourself...

Just watched the Owen Humphries video or one of them anyway. There must be another one, as that one backs up my point. You see a fire bomb being thrown at the English, meanwhile the police are standing there doing nothing.

its irrelevant what anyone posts because you will never admit shared blame...
the video highlights the fact that what english supporters consider 'banter' on their terraces is ok on foreign territory.....what about respecting the values of your hosts????

That was embarrassing GIAE, best to do a bit more research before posting any more drivel

And England's idea of organizationBRITAIN’S Euro 2016 police chief said the Marseilles mayhem was the most coordinated he has seen in 10 years handling football violence. He said: “The Russians are nothing like anything we have seen before. They are highly organised and determined to carry out sustained attacks at a level of aggression I’ve not seen.

Yes I agree, England fans shouldn't have been there to be attacked. It's all their fault.
What have England fans done that is so offensive to their hosts?

Re: England fans attacked
Since you asked....but no doubt, you will find reason to not believe or question the authenticity/reliability/objectivity of the following....
.Yet England fans appeared far from blameless. A combination of all-day drinking, a large contingent of boisterous younger fans – some perhaps travelling with England for the first time – and an undeniable minority of hardcore troublemakers led to a toxic brew.
There will be understandable reluctance to apportion blame until the full facts are known. Some will blame heavy handed police tactics, others Russian provocation. Some will question why an already potentially problematic clash was scheduled in Marseille in the first place.
But perhaps it is also time for the wider contingent of England fans to honest about the fact that colonising a central point, draping it with England flags and aggressively bellowing “No surrender to the IRA”, “10 German bombers”, “If it wasn’t for the English you’d be krauts” and “Fuck off Europe, we’re all voting out” with beery belligerence is in itself an act of aggression

Where has that come from? What a load of crap.

Oh yes, highly offensive. Sounds from the sounds of it with the locals, the police and the russian fans - they need to stay together for protection.
No surrender to the IRA - seeing they have been recently struck by terrorism, the locals should agree with that.
10 German Bombers - how is that offensive to their hosts
The others you may have a point with. However, doesn't change the facts that England never started with the violence

You're using them to back up your ill informed views. I'm pointing out that the views are idiotic and wrong and have countered them.MegaBonus wrote:They're not my points.....they are the points of an English person about Englishmen........

You must know some very smart 10 year olds, if they can use first hand evidence to continually show you that you were wrong.

Some are coming round but like with all things in the media. England fans defending themselves, doesn't sell newspapers. Especially not the ones who are trying to talk up how wonderful the EU is.Grosso wrote:maybe, and perhaps all sides of the media have gotten it wrong deliberately or otherwiseGod is an Englishman wrote:Ok, either way.
