Stating the bleedin' obvious maybe, but as its the only place they've had one, I guess they have nothing to compare it to (WSC aside). You could say its the worst place to play one too.

Good crowds, nice breakfast spots and getting a good night's sleep to name a few.

Because they should t have day/night tests yet. The ball is not right and reacts differently under the night conditions. As well as the pitch needing to be doctored just to make the ball last 80 overs.

There is too much of an advantage to the team bowling in the final session.

So, like just about any test, the coin toss is pretty crucial. Not reason enough to can a progressive idea and what it as least a move towards saving test cricket.
Personally, I prefer day match, red ball like most, but can see the logic behind it.
The Saffers can always forfeit if they're too scared.

it has always been on the cards, but never had any credibility nor support. but looking at the test crowds outside of the ashes, someone realised we need to test the water now before too late.

I do not think having one to start with is forcing it through, nor having one per year for that matter. you have to start somewhere. a whole series perhaps is going too far but we all know that is decades away - but one per year is fine to develop it. how can you develop it further without attempting it? there is no substitute for match conditions.

first one was huge, they made money, record breaking crowds, renewed interest, however players seemed 50/50 on it. until they get the ball dead on players will still be slightly worried, so until then, keep developing the ball and promoting the event and soon enough with the money put into developing the ball it will be all systems go.

To me the only sensible thing would be leave it anyway, as an ashes test series doesn't need any extra "hype" but has it even been touted as being an option yet? Based on recent form and the way the pink ball swings about, it would be a plus for your lot I'd imagine.

I would imagine cricket Australia would have approached them about or maybe a reporter asked them.

I'm just pleased they've said no and hope it continues that way. The pink ball isn't ready, get it ready and then we should talk. Until then, tell them to fuck off.

ACB according to today's paper are stating its not up to the players and they will decide anyway. Be interesting if you boycott/forfeit the test.
