More fixture f*** ups

Post by Flinders SC »

SAASL playing another blinder, this time they've released the Div 7 fixtures & messed everything up.

• They've listed 21 rounds for a 10 team comp
• Flinders play Angle Vale FOUR times, including back to back away games
• Blue Eagles & Flinders play each other THREE times
• Iggies play only Pitbulls & Sturt for four straight rounds

The entire thing is fucked up beyond recognition.

Following the shambles of placing Budapest into Div 3 & TWO single team clubs into Div 4, it should be no surprise really, but the sheer incompetence is just breathtaking.

It's simply not good enough.

On the positive side, Monarchs don't have to play away to Angle Vale. Saves some petrol. Plus we have 3 away games at Sturt Marion. Nice and close to my house. Back to back games against Downs is a tough ask really, but at least we don't have to play twice in the first round like they do.

It'll get fixed, leave it 48 hours and check again. It cant get any worse anyway.

Now there's 18 rounds... but a bye for 1 club first fixture only?! 10 teams by the looks of it, finishing in August?, seems early.

Noticed that Div 3A only has 9 teams, so a bye every round.

Can't they arrange the teams evenly, not that hard surely??

The finishing early is because they scheduled games during the cup rounds, we're (Flinders) are already on to them about it. The rest I'm guessing are mistakes which they haven't cleaned up yet

Pitbulls just cant make round 1. Means Angle Vale get a round 1 pass. Rest is a 10 team league and still a bit off. Someone obviously didn't give it much thought and just got something up, which hasn't ended in a good result.

Pitbulls still on holiday during round 1?! Looks like the fixtures should have a few gaps, otherwise the end of season party is going to be a lot earlier than our A's and B's..

look. if teams cannot play each other twice, once at home and once away then you haven't got a proper league. bit like afl isn't it.

SAASL has some cash tucked away.

Surely a fixture generating machine could be purchased

iggies moving into div4a, we are taking their spot in div 7, some home games may need to start 12 to 12:15 due to u11, but we will be in touch as soon as E&D fixtures are finalised.

Northen Pitbulls have forfeited Sunday cup game vs Payneham Postel. Very disappointing.

Seems a bit pointless given a forfeit means you get kicked out of the cup next year. They're also forfeiting the opening round of Div 7.

Very stupid... surely the Reserves will be forfeited too...

Why have 'Iggies' been added to Saturday Div 4 so late? If it gives the B grade sides in Div 4 more games then great, but why couldn't this have been arranged earlier, instead of letting in Burundi and M U Stars who only have an A grade. This is getting to bloody confusing. Be nice to play 'Iggies' again though down on the 'postage stamp' pitch.

we picked up a saturday team over easter, saasl were looking at us being 4a and iggies 4b. but iggies got enough players for 4a and 4b so we are slotting in to 7

we wanted 4a with no 4b or the 3a spot left by budapest (due to groudn availaiblity, refs etc), but those teams you mention must get priority in getting what they want as they would only put us in the one team comp :D :D :D

I won't put any fixtures in my diary just yet.
