how can the "best" 16 players with the "best" coaching they can get lose to a JPL team. I remember a family member was the coach of a poor club and had a few very talented kids playing a year up. Anyway they played the STIC team twice and on both occasions they beat the STIC team convincingly. In that team the very talented players (who were all nominated the year before and didn't make it into the team) ran rings around most of the side, it's a boys club, not a talent search.
If you look back to the very beginning of this thread, this was posted in MARCH LAST YEAR, after the team lost their first game of the season!! We've got to remember these boys had not played together for very long and were then playing in a higher league with boys a year or more older than them - which at that age can make a huge difference in weight, height and strength.
The same bunch of lads then went on to become 2nd in the league and also then represented South Australia at Coff's Harbour and won the competition. So not a bad achievement after all!!!

But unfortunately you will still get idiots digging it up a year later in an alcoholic haze trying to pass their fantasies off as fact.
Its extra training for the kids involved and this benefits the kids who get picked.
These types of programs have been run for many decades. They are very subjective and have always been very hit and miss. They dont have any secret recipe.
Players and parents shouldnt get carried away with being or not being selected because its a very long journey ahead for any serious footballer with many more serious trials and tribulations to navigate. In the whole scheme of things you can always get extra training elsewhere.
