Re: Olyroos
We came incredibly close with MacLaren hitting the cross bar late on but from all reports another classic case of all the possession but bugger all chance creation.
I think it's time to go Viddie.

Re: Olyroos
The Olyroos played very much a possession game, no long balls except a couple as they pressed hard in injury time. They were calm and composed on the ball, kept to an obvious game plan but only had two or three real chances, the closest being McLarens shot off the cross barStuckey wrote:We came incredibly close with MacLaren hitting the cross bar late on but from all reports another classic case of all the possession but bugger all chance creation.

Stand out players for me were Donachie and Amini.

Re: Olyroos
Sorry Viddie, but you've had your chances to impress but it's time to go.
If Australia cannot qualify from a group like that then all involved should all hang our heads in shame.

I see this at every level of national teams below seniors.Old Master wrote:Sorry Viddie, but you've had your chances to impress but it's time to go.

The new dawners want to kick out the current manager. Then the next one comes in, fails and you want to kick him out.
Do you ever question that maybe the players coming through this current generation just arent very good?
Do you watch any of these games and see how poorly skilled they are individually?
The only thing that can do is short passing. They've been trained like robots from an early age to do this under the KNVB model (methodology scam) and people are clueless as to why this outdated system isnt turning into results.

Re: Olyroos
So all this specialised training, expensive coaching courses, transformations to style, 4-3-3 curriculums, small sided games etc etc etc is all part of growing/improving football standards here? Doesn't look like its having much effect from where I sit.
Maybe we need another 5 years of it, but if things don't improve, what next?
Perhaps its merely the selection process (players/coaches) that needs overhauling, who knows, but put simply, not good enough.
Hopefully the main team (Ange's boys) can continue to fly the flag at least - after all they are the true measuring stick.

I think Ange has shown that the system isn't broken, Viddie has had his time and he's the only one still there from the last toothless campaign. Its clear he's where the problem is.Bomber wrote:So all this specialised training, expensive coaching courses, transformations to style, 4-3-3 curriculums, small sided games etc etc etc is all part of growing/improving football standards here? what NC players has Ange unveiled?
winning the AFC cup at home isnt a special achievement when you fail to defeat Japan, Iran, Iraq and lose to Korea on the way.

http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/so ... 9b974085efSO, back to back Olympic failures. By the time the 2020 Games come around in Tokyo, an entire generation will have missed out on competing on the Olympic stage.
Totally agree with everything Simon Hill is saying.
Put more attention on getting the HAL development squads up to scratch and spend more resources on keeping talent youth in the HAL longer.
Re: Olyroos
You'll have to take that fact we didn't play Japan, Iran or Iraq up with the tournament organisers old mate. You can only beat who you play.Grosso wrote:really?Stuckey wrote:I think Ange has shown that the system isn't broken, Viddie has had his time and he's the only one still there from the last toothless campaign. Italy didn't play Brazil or Argentina and drew with USA in 2006. Should they hand their World Cup trophy back too?

because the AFC is as strong as the world cupStuckey wrote:You'll have to take that fact we didn't play Japan, Iran or Iraq up with the tournament organisers old mate. Cool so you're grasping the concept of you can only beat who you play.
