Re: Australia v New Zealand
Nathan Lyon hits it and stands there.
It goes for the review, hot spot shows he hit it, Nathan Lyon starts to walk off.
Can someone explain to me how he was given not out?

So that's what that was all about. We were at Caffe Primo so only had a volumeless tv in the distance.

Just seen it on the news. If the batsman has already walked then surely he knows he has hit it. Out.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
If he knew he hit it, he should have continued his walk to the dressing rooms. If he started walking cos he looked at the tv screens on basis of seeing hotspot and putting two and two together, then fair enough if he was called back.
That said it looked out and thanks to a numpty Englishman, Australia has got a bit lucky.
As for Shaun Marsh...............how the flock does he get chance after chance after failure after failure at test level?

Re: Australia v New Zealand
What hasn't been mentioned at all was the aftermath of that joke of a decision.
When KP was given not out v australia but there was a mark on the bat (in the wrong place though), Ricky Ponting was fied half of his match fee because he continued arguing it for so long. McCullum just accepted it.
3 bad decisions in this series (1 per test so far) and all going in australia's favour.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
Commentators even discussing how this pitch has deliberately had more grass left on it.
Another comment was, I doubt they'd have prepared it the same if you had Anderson and Broad coming in.

Commentators saying they no one at the Adelaide oval has left their seat, they're all fixed on the game.
I suggest they walk round the back of the members then.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
I was quite happy in the corporate box. Feel a bit tired this morning but was good to see a close finish. Was almost barracking for the kiwis near the end to get the ideal finish (one run, one wicket required etc).God is an Englishman wrote:Commentators saying they no one at the Adelaide oval has left their seat, they're all fixed on the game.

Did the commentators mention anything about sending Starc out there to bat near the end when he could hardly run?

Yes, many times. Amazing how he couldn't field but could run between wickets. I'm sure Ricky Ponting approved.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
I wouldn't call what he was doing between the wickets as "running" - was more like bunny hopping. He could have been run out which would have had egg on few faces. Surely Hazelwood or Lyon could have come in.God is an Englishman wrote:Bomber wrote:I was quite happy in the corporate box. Feel a bit tired this morning but was good to see a close finish. Re: Australia v New Zealand
He seemed to run the first OK, then hopped the 2nd.
You'd think they would have come in rather than a bloke unable to field.
A game with a number of hypocritical acts in it really.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
It seems Usman Khawaja agrees with me that the Adelaide oval was doctored.
recovering Australian number three Usman Khawaja has also called into question Brisbane's favouritism as the next day-night venue Down Under, saying doctoring green decks to preserve the pink ball is not what Test cricket is about.

My thoughts exactlyStig Inge Bjørnebye wrote:Now if you're lucky an Australian might admit it.

that was my gut feel - they weren't going to produce a road where both teams make 600 odd in their first dig.
it was all about promoting the pink ball, and sure enough, plenty of wickets fell.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
1. Let me know what the pitch was like the last day/night test was with a pink ball?
2. Did this pitch favour the home team specifically due to their form/line up?
3. Was this pitch a direct attempt at making it harder for the away team?
Bang on as much as you like, completely different to the England situation and anyone with half a cricket brain knows it.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
Khawaja agrees me on it being doctored. You seemed to think it was enough evidence when an England player said - why the difference now it's someone in the Australian set up?
Are you saying the Englishman's opinion is more trustworthy?

Re: Australia v New Zealand
If you're too blind to understand about doctoring pitches to suit and give additional advantage to the home team, then its your issue. Most normal cricket people understand the concept quite easily.God is an Englishman wrote:Khawaja agrees me on it being doctored. Any comment on the fact that the Hobart pitch is being prepared to (if anything) give the visiting team half a chance? Would be unheard of anywhere else.

Re: Australia v New Zealand
Maybe part desperate (or practical) attempt to resuscitate a doomed test series and part realization that some people prefer a contest between bat & ball to enduring 5 days of various modestly talented twats filling their boots on yet another ‘road’Bomber wrote:

So its more about the contest rather than mocking it to make it easier to win for the home team. Previously you had said that it wasn't doctoring if it didn't change the way the wicket played.Bomber wrote:Nice dodge of questions. Pretty much sums things up in itself!
It's so obvious even Nigel Llong can see that both the saca and waca haven't performed "normally", even your own player agrees with me.
